While the Springfield Ronin Operator is the result of thoroughly modern precision manufacturing, it’s traditional in its approach to quality and performance. Configured as a full-size 5" gun and available in 9mm and .45 ACP variants, the Ronin Operator features a forged steel slide and frame as well as a hammer-forged barrel for unparalleled durability and strength.
The pistol sports a two-tone finish, with a stainless steel forged frame and a forged slide of carbon steel. The flats of both the slide and frame are thoroughly polished, with a matte finish applied to the rest of the pistol. In addition, the carbon steel slide features a hot salt bluing treatment that not only brings out the lustre of the steel, but also hearkens back to the earliest days of the classic 1911.
But while the Springfield Ronin Operator exudes a classic air of tradition in regards to quality and value, its appointments tell a different story. Everything you would want on a modern 1911 is present on the Ronin Operator. From its beavertail grip safety with “memory bump” to its fiber optic front/tactical rack white dot rear sight system to its extended safety lever, this is a pistol designed to deliver performance.
Rounding out the package of the Springfield Ronin Operator is a pair of Crossed Cannon premium laminate wood grips, stainless steel checkered flat mainspring housing, Springfield Armory 2nd Generation Speed Trigger, forward slide serrations and a basepad-equipped magazine (9 + 1 capacity in the 9mm model and 8 + 1 in the .45 ACP).
