New Hornady Products for 2015

New Hornady Products for 2015

Hornady has announced an assortment of new products for 2015, including ammunition, reloading tools and shooting accessories.

For starters, the company is introducing two completely new ammunition lines: Full Boar and American Gunner. Available in a wide variety of popular hunting calibers from .223 Rem. to .300 Win. Mag., the Full Boar line of rifle ammunition is designed for use on the toughest game and features Hornady's hard-hitting GMX bullets for deep penetration and maximum weight retention. The American Gunner line of handgun ammo is manufactured in the U.S., features Hornady's XTP bullets and premium Hornady components and is available in most standard handgun calibers.

Hornady is also releasing its first .17 Winchester Super Magnum (WSM) load. An impressive cartridge that bridges the gap between the rimfire .17 HMR and the centerfire .17 Hornet, Hornady's .17 WSM fires a 20-grain V-MAX bullet at an astonishing 3,000 feet per second (fps) and should be an excellent option for serious varmint hunters.

The company has also announced several additions to existing ammunition lines. Hornady's American Whitetail line now includes 12 gauge, 1-ounce rifled, foster-style slugs for use with smooth-bore shotguns, while the Superformance Varmint line gets a new .243 Winchester offering loaded with a 75-grain V-MAX bullet. Hornady has added the .357 Magnum to its Critical Duty line and a new 9mm Luger load to its reduced-recoil Critical Defense Lite lineup. A new .338 Lapua Magnum load in its Superformance Match line rounds out Hornady's new ammo offerings.

In addition, two new bullets will be available for 2015: 155-grain Match .308 and 100-grain 270-caliber GMX bullets.

An array of new reloading tools and shooting accessories complete the list of new Hornady products.

Check out the photos, specs and video below for more information, and look for these new offerings to be available beginning in early 2015.

American Whitetail Rifled Slugs

Hornady has added rifled slugs as a smooth-bore alternative to its American Whitetail line of centerfire ammunition. Hornady already produces an American Whitetail slug loaded with a 325-grain InterLock bullet for those hunters using rifled slug guns, but these new rifled slugs give hunters using smooth-bore shotguns a viable option in the field. The American Whitetail Rifled Slugs are loaded with a 1-ounce foster-style slug featuring a hollow point and a lead alloy core. The slugs have an advertized velocity of 1,600 feet per second (fps).

Full Boar Rifle Ammunition

Available in a wide variety of calibers ranging from .223 Remington to .300 Winchester Magnum, Hornady's Full Boar rifle ammo line features the company's hard-hitting GMX bullets. The monolithic copper-alloy GMX bullets provide more than 95-percent weight retention and uniform, controlled expansion to perform on the toughest game.

Superformance Varmint .243 Winchester

The new .243 Winchester offering in Hornady's Superformance Varmint line features a 75-grain V-MAX bullet. It has a muzzle velocity of 3,580 feet per second (fps) and retains a velocity of 2,155 fps at 500 yards.

Superformance Match .338 Lapua

The new .338 Lapua offering in the Superformance Match line features a 285-grain A-MAX bullet. As with all Superformance Match loads, the .338 Lapua is built to be faster and more accurate than conventional loads.

.17 Winchester Super Magnum

A perfect option for the dedicated varmint hunter, the new Hornady .17 Winchester Super Magnum (WSM) fires Hornady's 20-grain V-MAX bullet at a remarkable velocity of 3,000 feet per second (fps). Offering greater performance than both the .17 HMR and the .22 WMR, the new Hornady .17 WSM retains more than 2,000 fps of velocity at 200 yards.

Critcal Defense Lite 9mm Luger

The newest addition to Hornady's Critical Defense line, the 9mm Luger Critical Defense Lite offers up to 27-percent recoil reduction when compared with traditional loads, while still providing ample penetration, making it perfect for shooters sensitive to recoil. The 9mm Luger Critical Defense Lite follows on the heels of Hornady's previous reduced-recoil .38 Special Critical Defense Lite load, and it features a 100-grain FTX bullet.

Critical Duty .357 Magnum

Hornady has added a .357 Magnum load to its Critical Duty line of personal defense ammunition. Loaded with Hornady's 135-grain FlexLock bullet, this new cartridge provides an option for law enforcement or shooters who prefer using a revolver for self-defense. The Critical Duty .357 Magnum load meets established FBI protocols for penetration and terminal performance through all common urban barriers. The load incorporates a massive jacket-to-core InterLock band that locks the jacket and core together for high weight retention. As with other Critical Duty loads, the .357 Magnum features low-flash propellants and nickel-plated cartridge cases.

Lock-N-Load Sonic Cleaner 7L

The Sonic Cleaner 7L removes carbon residue and other debris from cartridge cases, gun parts and other metal equipment with an ultrasonic cleaning action. The device has a capacity of seven liters but also comes with a 1.6-liter small parts tank. An additional tank can be purchased to simultaneously clean with different solutions. A keypad with an illuminated display allows the user to adjust and monitor time, solution temperature, de-gas, ultrasonic and heat functions.

Lock-N-Load 1911 Auto Primer Tube Filler

The Lock-N-Load 1911 Auto Primer Tube Filler reduces the time it takes to fill primer tubes. It features an ergonomic handle that positions the tray at the appropriate angle for feeding primers, and its 13,000 RPM vibration motor is powered by two AAA batteries.

Lock-N-Load Bullet Tubes

Hornady's Lock-N-Load Bullet Tubes offer handloaders a fast, flexible system that increases loading speed on compatible progressive reloading presses with 7/8-14 thread die-stations when paired with a Hornady Bullet Feeder die (sold separately). With these tubes, the handloader can pre-load the tubes with bullets and place the tube in the top of their bullet feeder die. The tubes can fit more than 40 bullets depending on caliber and weight and feature a milled window for visual bullet level inspection. Lock-N-Load Bullet Tubes are sold in packs of three tubes per caliber and are available for 9mm, .40 caliber/10mm and .45 caliber.

Neck Turn Tool

Designed for use "http://www.hornady.com/store/Lock-N-Load-Neck-Turn-Tool" target= "_blank">Neck Turn Tool is built to be powered by a drill (not included) to make neck turning much easier and faster, while at the same time providing better consistency and surface finish. The Neck Turn Tool also features an adjustment mechanism that uses a clicking detent system with .0005-inch increment adjustments. These detents can also be disabled to provide further variable adjustment. The Neck Turn Tool can be used on cases as long as 2.940 inches.

Lock-N-Load Quick Change Hand Tool

The Lock-N-Load Quick Change Hand Tool features a dual-sided chuck that facilitates quick changeovers of popular case preparation tools such as chamfer, deburr, primer pocket reamers and cleaners, brushes or other tools with 8-32 threads. The tool comes with three dual-sided chucks, chamfer/deburr tools, primer pocket cleaner and neck brushes for the following calibers: 22 cal, 25 cal/6mm, 270 cal/7mm, 30 cal, 35 cal/9mm and 45 cal.

.30 Caliber .308 155-grain BTHP Match

The new 30-caliber Boat-tail hollow-point bullet has a diameter of .308 inches, a weight of 155 grains and a ballistic coefficient of .425. It comes in a box of 100 bullets.

American Gunner Handgun Ammunition

Manufactured entirely in the U.S. and using high quality Hornady cases and primers, the American Gunner line of handgun ammunition is available in most standard calibers, from .380 Auto up to .45 Auto. Initial offerings will feature Hornady's legendary XTP bullets, which are suitable for hunting, self-defense and law enforcement applications.

.270 Caliber 100-grain GMX

The new 270-caliber GMX bullet has a diameter of .277 inches, a weight of 100 grains and a ballistic coefficient of .274. It comes in a box of 50 bullets.
