Mossberg has announced the expansion of their Patriot bolt-action line with the Patriot LR (Long Range) Tactical. The Patriot LR Tactical utilizes three popular flat-shooting cartridges, with available configurations pairing 6.5 Creedmoor and .308 Winchester chamberings with a 22-inch barrel, and a 6.5 PRC model using a 24-inch barrel.
With its design based on the Patriot bolt-action platform, the push-feed LR Tactical has a twin-lug steel action, and a carbon steel medium-bull-contour barrel with an 11-degree match crown. The barrel is also threaded 5/8”-24 to facilitate adding a suppressor, and has a protective thread cap when no attachments are being used. Like all Patriot rifles, the LR Tactical uses the “Lightning Bolt Action” trigger, which is adjustable from 2 to 7 pounds. The 20 MOA Picatinny rail is factory-installed and provides added elevation adjustment for most optics.
A standout feature that sets the LR Tactical apart from previous rifles in the Patriot series is the MDT Field Stock chassis system. The system features V-Block aluminum bedding, Magpul M-LOK compatible forend and buttstock that is adjustable for length of pull from 13.5- to 14.25-inches using the three provided spacers. The comb height is also adjustable up to 2 inches via a tension knob on the side of the stock. The rifle is fed through AICS-style magazines with 10-round (for the 6.5 Creedmoor and .308 Win) or 7-round (for the 6.5 PRC) capacity. All LR tactical rifles will accept aftermarket AICS-style mags specific to their caliber.
The Patriot LR Tactical is now available with an MSRP of $1,085 for all offered chamberings. Visit Mossberg.com for more information.
