Introducing the Barrett MRAD

Barrett was at the 2013 SHOT Show in Las Vegas for the release of its new Barrett MRAD rifle, which stands for Multi-Role Adaptive Design. The MRAD was developed on a re-engineered platform that steps away from the traditional sporting-type bolt-action rifle. Instead, it was created specifically for combat and long-range tactical purposes.

The bolt on the MRAD is completely encased in the receiver and rides at all times in a polymer guide so that the bolt never leaves the receiver. With the capability of changing uppers or barrel configurations, Barrett plans on making components available in .338 Lapua Magnum, .300 Win. Mag. and .308. The MRAD comes with a 10-round magazine and has an MSRP of $6,000.
