G&A 2013 Holiday Gift Guide

When gift cards and new socks just won't cut it for that special gunny in your life, you need a more tactical surprise to make this holiday season memorable.

Red Ryder BB guns, leg lamps and Ovaltine are deeply-rooted in classic holiday traditions — but gun guys and gals who made the nice list this year are dreaming of new guns, gear and ammo for their collection.

Since the elves up north can't make enough .22 LR to fill every stocking this year, we've rounded up some of the best gun gift ideas sure to please shooters of all ages.

Champion Electronic Ear Muffs

Champion Electronic Ear Muffs reduce noise by up to 25dB while amplifying quiet sounds such as human voices. These muffs are adjustable and collapse for convenient storage in your range bag. Look to this pair of muffs as a great value for an electronic set of hearing protection. They're also available in pink.

The KingTuk has removable metal clips for belts up to 1.75 inches, and can be moved up or down to set carry height and angle.

Hornady Hot Tub

The new Hornady Hot Tub sonic cleaner has a 9-liter capacity, and is long enough to clean a 16-inch AR-15 upper. The unit employs four transducers, and a heating element enhances the cleaning action.

Combined with Hornady's One Shot Sonic Clean solution, the micro-jet action of the Hot Tub removes carbon residue and other debris from cartridge cases, gun parts and other metal equipment. A 1.7-quart inner tank can be used in the main tank for cleaning smaller batches or for using separate solutions at the same time. Features include integrated drain pans in the lids, small parts basket and five temperature settings from 100 degrees to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. The main tank measures 25.5-by-7-by-4 inches; the inner tank measures 6.7-by-4.7-by-3.2 inches.

Laserlyte Laser Plinking Cans

LaserLyte has taken their reactive targets one step further with their new Laser Plinking Cans. Now you can practice and plink in the comfort of your home, all while avoiding boring dry-fire practice.

When shot with a LaserLyte laser, Plinking Cans tip over and give shooters immediate feedback on their hits.

The Editors at G&A tested these cans at various distances, racing each other to see who could knock them over faster. We found the cans are responsive to laser hits out to at least 90 feet.

LaserLyte Plinking Cans will be available in the first quarter of 2014. The package comes with three cans, three 9V batteries and an instruction card.
