G&A Visits the 2014 IWA Show

Guns & Ammo was the only gun publication scouting on the floor of Europe's large annual firearm industry trade event. Many products unveiled at the 2014 IWA Show in Nuremberg, Germany, foreshadow future offerings for the American market.

Check out the guns, sights and scenes from the 2014 IWA Show:

Benelli Argo E

The Benelli Argo family of rifles, also known as the R1 in America, was inspired by the Auto-Regulating Gas-Operated (ARGO) system developed for the M4 shotgun.

Benelli Booth

Benelli introduced several new rifles and shotguns to the European market that we anticipate will make their way across the pond in coming years.

Benelli M2 Left Hand

This is the first time we've seen a left handed Benelli M2, and we love to see it come stateside in 20- and 12-gauge variations.

Benelli MR1

We've become familiar with the MR1 in recent years, but the IWA show introduced us to an SBR version (top) that's not eligible for U.S. import.

Benelli Rafaello Lord

The Raffaello is the European version of the chic new Benelli Ethos. Pictured here in the limited edition "Lord" configuration, this shotgun features a matte bronze receiver, italian leather-finished stock and foregrip, and a wood end plate on the buttstock.

Beretta A400 Xtreme

The Beretta A400 Xtreme makes its European debut.

Beretta Clothing

Beretta has brought casual mens and women's clothing to market for years, giving sportsmen a casual look in the office or out on the trail.

Beretta Booth

One of the oldest companies in the world, Beretta is a mainstay of both European and American firearm culture.

Notice in this photo how everyone is wearing suits? The IWA Show is considered a formal event and most patrons dress to impress.

.700 Nitro Express

It's hard to pass up a look at the .700 Nitro Express — when big bore goes magnum.

Armscor Booth

Armscor's .22 TCM cartridge is a wildly popular cartridge overseas for shooting, hunting and target shooting.

Beretta PX4 Storm FDE

The Beretta PX4 Storm makes an appearance with a flat dark earth (FDE) frame.

Beretta Royalty

Call it eye candy or gun porn, this Beretta over/under was customized and tailored to a "classified" royal upland hunter.

Beretta Xplor

Based on the A400 platform, the Beretta Xplor comes in a variety of configurations to fit several different hunting and shooting objectives.

Browning BAR Orange Camo

Will we see Browning introduce new colors to the classic BAR onto the American market?

Browning Maral

Browning introduces the Maral, a straight-pull bolt action rifle that we'd love to have in America.

Umarex/HK Airsoft

To commemorate 50 years of the MP5, Umarex and HK teamed up to create an extensive lineup of airsoft guns modeled after the classic submachine gun.

Hornady Booth

Hornady's traditions of creating high quality ammo extend beyond American soil.

Steve Hornady

Steve Hornady makes an appearance at the show to support the European hunting and shooting culture.

Welcome to IWA 2014

Hosted in Nuremberg, Germany in March 2014, the IWA Show attracted over 39,000 visitors.

Leupold Booth

Leupold was on hand to debut its Leupold Deltapoint 2 to new markets.

Nightforce

Nightforce introduced several new offerings, including an eyepiece adapter for use with iPhones.

Sharps Relia-Bolt

The Sharps Relia-Bolt addresses one of the most common malfunctions of the AR-15 platform; the bolt to barrel extension jam.

Ruger Booth

Ruger made an appearance to debut a few American offerings to the European market.

Ruger Red Label

The Ruger Red Label was recently reintroduced to the American market, and quickly made its way overseas.

Ruger American

The Ruger American rifle goes to Europe, including an offering already outfitted with a Redfield Revolution scope.

Sako Ammo

Sako introduced a whole new line of premium hunting ammunition.

Steyr Booth

Steyr's traditions are deeply engrained in European culture, but they also recently unveiled a new U.S. headquarters in Bessemer, Alabama.

Stock Blanks

A huge area of the show included dozens of custom rifle stock makers, allowing patrons to pick out their own stock blanks in person.

Walther Booth

Walther is a European mainstay, and also just released the CCP pistol to the U.S. market.

Pocket-Pistol Carry Tips and Tricks

Pocket-Pistol Carry Tips and Tricks

Pocket carry, as a method of concealed carry for a defensive firearm, can be a practical option when done right. This is especially true during the colder months when heavy outer garments can obstruct access to a traditional waistline holster. Former U.S. Navy SEAL Jeff Gonzales, president of Trident Concepts, joins G&A contributor Kimberly Heath-Chudwin to discuss guns, training and gear, including Blackhawk's TecGrip holster that can make pocket carry more successful.

Guns & Ammo TV: Cameras Don't Lie: 9mm vs .45 ACP

The age-old question, 9mm vs .45 ACP. For some, this has been asked and answered already. For others, the debate goes on. In this segment of “Cameras Don't Lie,” competitive shooters Patrick Sweeney and Jim Tarr head to the range to put the vaunted loads on record, and then consider the footage.

Trijicon

Trijicon's New Specialized Reflex Optics (SRO)

The Trijicon SRO is specifically designed for pistol use. The wide field of view and clean, crisp dot makes it easy for users to find and track the dot in both target and competitive shooting applications.

Shooting 600 Yards with .300 Blackout

Shooting 600 Yards with .300 Blackout

The .300 Blackout cartridge was developed to provide greater effectiveness than a 9mm at short and medium ranges when fired from a short-barreled suppressed firearm. Just because the cartridge wasn't designed to go long doesn't mean Rifles & Optics Editor Tom Beckstrand won't take it there, using a large-format pistol, no less. Armed with SIG Sauer's 9-inch-barreled MCX Virtus Pistol loaded with Black Hills' 125-grain TMK ammunition, Beckstrand attempts to ring steel at 600 yards with help from Hornady's 4DOF ballistic calculator in this segment of “Long Range Tech.”
