Whether you everyday carry, hunt, shoot competitively, or enjoying plinking just for fun, Aguila Ammunition has the ammo to feed your firearm and a cast of distinguished pro-staff shooters to draw a crowd. Our Joe Kriz found that out from the Aguila booth at the 2019 SHOT Show.
Rubbing shoulders with the likes of competitive shooters Mark Redl, David Miller, Zeph Thull, and the husband-wife team of Chris and Michelle Cerino (who also contribute to Guns & Ammo Magazine ), we discussed new products from Aguila, the Aguila Cup, and everyone’s favorite new guns launched at the show.
In addition to new bulk packaging for cartridges like 5.56×45 Full Metal Jacket Boat Tail , now shipping in 300-round boxes, Aguila announced the new 5mm Remington Rimfire Magnum Varmint Jacketed Hollow Point . A 30-grain bullet traveling at 2,300 fps, the new cartridge delivers over 180 ft/lbs at 100 yards and mushrooms with devastating results on varmint.
But it wouldn’t be a conversation with competitive shooters if we didn’t talk competition! Scheduled for June 20-23 at Fossil Pointe Shooting Grounds in Decatur, TX, the second-annual Aguila Cup will feature multiple shooting disciplines, including sporting clays, 3-gun, rimfire, and more. More than a competition, the three-day event is also a great opportunity to try something new and learn from Aguila’s Pro-Staff.
