Winchester Introduces Long Beard XR Magnum Turkey Loads

Winchester Ammunition is expanding its Long Beard XR turkey loads in 2015 to include a magnum option for hunters.

Winchester created ripples in the shooting and hunting industries when it introduced Long Beard XR in 2013 because of the load's incredible long-range capabilities, and this new magnum load promises to deliver similar performance but with an even heavier payload and increased pellet counts.

As with previous Long Beard XR loads, the new magnum loads incorporate Winchester's innovative Shot-Lok technology. This groundbreaking resin consists of a liquid poured into the shot cup that forms a micro buffer around the front of the load and protects shot once the primer is ignited and the load travels down the barrel.

Winchester Long Beard XR Magnum ammunition is available in 12-gauge, 3- or 3 1/2-inch loads with a payload of either 1-7/8 or 2-1/8 ounces. The loads are available with size 4, 5 or 6 shot and all travel at an advertised velocity of 1,050 feet per second (fps).
