Sighted In: Aimpoint Micro T-2

The Micro T-2 is compatible with all generations of night vision devices

Sighted In: Aimpoint Micro T-2

After the introduction of the 2-MOA Micro T-1/H-1 red dot sight, we were unsure how Aimpoint could make the best micro-red dot sight on the market better. However, being a consistent innovator, Aimpoint has taken its award-winning, do-it-all micro sight to the next level by giving it a number of updates for 2015. Behold the Aimpoint Micro T-2.

The most notable improvement is in the sight's optical performance. A newly designed front lens incorporates an important breakthrough in reflective lens coatings and provides a noticeable increase in image clarity. This translates into faster, more accurate shots, regardless of the angle or conditions presented.

Pictured here, the T-2 maintains compatibility with T-1 and H-1 mounting systems from various manufacturers.

A new sight housing allows the addition of transparent front and rear protective flip covers (included) to help protect the lenses while also enabling the use of anti-reflection devices. Thankfully, the new housing maintains the same T-1/H-1 footprint, so it fits existing aftermarket mounts from popular manufacturers such as LaRue Tactical, American Defense, Unity Tactical and Daniel Defense, to name a few. The housing is constructed of high-strength extruded aluminum and is anodized in a semi-matte finish. The updated housing provides additional protection to the sight's adjustment turrets, specifically the elevation turret located at the top of the sight. This is crucial should the sight be dropped head first or used as a charging handle on a pistol during one-handed manipulations. The new housing also allows for increased ruggedness of the sight's internal electronic components.

The Micro T-2 is compatible with all generations of night vision devices. Should targets present themselves at extended distances, it is also fully compatible with any 3X magnifier on the market without re-zeroing. This includes Aimpoint's own magnifier with a twist-mount base or aftermarket flip-to-the-side mounts.

Thanks to Aimpoint's ACET (Advanced Circuit Efficiency Technology), the Micro can operate for up to five years or 50,000 hours of constant-on use using just one 3V lithium CR2032 watch battery and is waterproof to depths down to 25 meters, or 80 feet. Four night vision and eight daylight settings (including one extra-bright) are on tap to ensure that the red dot is visible regardless of the lighting conditions.

Like its brethren, the Micro T-2 can be mounted on nearly any firearm platform, from crew served all the way down to a handgun or bow. An integrated and removable Weaver-style base allows the sight to be attached to practically any platform you own, and the sight is small enough to fit anywhere you could put iron sights.
