Shadow Systems has announced a new handgun line in the Foundation Series , developed out of a desire for a lower price pistol that still retained essential features and reliability. The Foundation Series is built on the same frame as all Shadow Systems pistols, with pricing starting at $679.
All Foundation Series models feature an optimized wrap-around texture and three interchangeable backstraps to ensure both control and grip are maintained by all users. A deep cut below the trigger guard and extended upswept beavertail both provide further control and prevent slide bite, while not taking on an oversized appearance compared to other contemporary frames on the market.
The nitride slide is equipped with the Shadow Systems multi-footprint optic cut, allowing for direct mounting of most major optics brands out the box. The default sights are steel with a plain black serrated rear paired with a white dot front. The nitride barrel is rated for +P ammo and is conventionally rifled.
Internals include a carbon steel guide rod and drop-safe polymer trigger with an advertised 4.5-5 pound pull. Two Magpul magazines ship with each pistol.
The Foundation Series is available in three sizes: MR920, XR920, and DR920. The MR920 is a compact, multi-role pistol with 15+1 capacity. The XR920 is a crossover pistol with a full-size frame, a compact top end, and 17+1 capacity. The DR920 is a full size, duty role pistol with a 17+1 capacity.
All Shadow Systems pistols are backed with a Limited Lifetime Warranty.
Shadow Systems announced that the Foundation Series is available now at Bass Pro and Cabela’s and will be available through dealers and distributors nationwide in September.
