At the Range: Rock River R3 Competition Rifle

At the Range: Rock River R3 Competition Rifle

Configuring an AR-15 for competition can become overwhelming if you do it yourself. Infinite combinations of aftermarket parts can easily scare people away from adding some extra sport to their modern sporting rifle. Specifically designed for 3-gun shooters, the Rock River Arms R3 Competition Rifle comes out of the box race-ready.

The R3 is equipped with an octagonal free-float rail which can be configured with supplemental rail segments to easily attach accessories like offset iron sights. A directionally tuned and ported muzzle brake caps off an 18-inch fluted stainless steel barrel with 1:8 twist.

Combine an exceptional barrel with Rock River's two-stage match trigger, and this rifle has the makings of an outstanding competition gun. The only thing needed to complete the R3 is your choice of optics. The R3 Competition Rifle is shipping now for $1,310.
