FN 509 Midsize Tactical
FN America’s striker-fired, polymer-frame FN 509 pistol platform has proven to be not only functional and reliable, but also very adept at assuming new configurations to meet specific tactical, personal defense and even competition needs. The newest member of the line-up, the FN 509 Midsize Tactical, combines features from the Tactical and Compact Tactical models, including the former’s full-size tactical slide. Equipped with the versatile Low-Profile Optics-Mounting System and midsize grip frame, the FN 509 Midsize Tactica l is a well-balanced pistol that’s optics-ready, multi-role capable and optimized for shootability.
“Building on the success of both the FN 509 Tactical and the FN 509 Midsize, our team combined the best features of both pistols into the FN 509 Midsize Tactical,” said Chris Cole, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for FN America, LLC. “The 15-round grip frame with the optics-ready tactical slide assembly offers our customers another strong contender for concealed carry and personal protection in the FN 509 family.”

Weighing in at just under 30 ounces unloaded, the FN 509 Midsize Tactical is positioned to fulfill multiple firearms uses, including concealed carry, home defense and duty use. Its midsize frame, which enables users to get a full firing grip, plus the added mass of the 4.5-inch threaded barrel assembly and improved, duty-rated trigger offer enhance control and recoil management in a pistol that is easy to carry and conceal.
“FN is well known for setting the industry standard for tactical pistols starting with the FNX-45 Tactical. Features like a threaded barrel, suppressor-height night sights, extended capacity and most importantly, optics-ready,” said Chris Johnson, Senior Pistol Product Manager for FN America, LLC. “The FN 509 Midsize Tactical delivers all of those tactical features that FN customers expect in a package that is perfectly proportioned for everyday carry and much more.”
The Midsize Tactical frame features a 15-round standard magazine with an option to run the included 24-round FN 509 magazines, providing increased capacity. The 4.5-inch threaded barrel is cold hammer-forged and suppressor-ready with 1/2x28-inch thread pitch and housed within a 4-inch slide. The slide is cut for FN’s patented Low-Profile Optics-Mounting System which accommodates more than ten popular red-dot optics. Three-dot Trijicon green Tritium night sights are suppressor-height to co-witness with any compatible optic. Both matte black and flat dark earth (FDE) models are available .
FN 15 DMR3 Rifle
As the trend for upgraded and accurate AR-pattern rifles continues, FN has now introduced three new FN 15 models in Designated Marksman Rifle (DMR) configuration. Now in its third edition, the FN 15 DMR3 is available in three colors: matte black anodized; flat dark earth (FDE) Cerakote; or tungsten gray Cerakote. The FN 15 DMR3 includes several upgrades over previous generations to enhance accuracy and reduce felt recoil, including a new 18-inch barrel, a SureFire ProComp muzzle brake and a Geissele two-stage trigger.

The all-new DMR3 is designed to be an accurate and reliable rifle with an 18-inch Hybrid-profile that provides the right balance between rigidity for accuracy and light weight for quick maneuverability. The cold hammer-forged barrel is chrome-lined with 1:8 twist made from FN’s proprietary machine gun barrel steel and features a rifle-length gas system with pinned low-profile gas block. Finished with a SureFire ProComp muzzle brake, felt recoil is reduced and the rifle’s muzzle stays flat for faster shot-to-shot recovery.
The 14 5/8-inch aluminum handguard uses Hodge Defense’s wedge-lock technology for an extremely rigid setup that minimizes deflection and allows for a fully free-floated barrel, further aiding accuracy. It’s continuous MIL-STD Picatinny rail at 12 o’clock and multiple M-LOK attachment slots allow the user to fully customize the setup, with ample space for optics and other accessories.
The MIL-SPEC lower receiver is forged aluminum and features an M16-style bolt carrier group with high pressure/magnetic particle inspected and certified bolt. The addition of the Geissele two-stage precision G2S trigger allows for exceptional trigger control with the first stage trigger pull ranging from 4.25 to 4.75 pounds and the second stage ranging from 2.75 to 3 pounds.
The rifles are finished with FN’s custom furniture including ergonomic pistol grip, six-position collapsible carbine stock and 30-round magazine along with Radian Raptor-LT ambidextrous charging handle and Radian Talon ambidextrous safety selector.
MultiCam FN SCARs
Last but not least, FN America is set to unveil custom MultiCam patterned FN SCAR NRCH rifles . The pattern, Crye Precision’s original MultiCam, has been applied hydrographically to the receiver and trigger module frame of the SCAR 16S, 17S and 20S commercial SCAR variants.

The battle-proven FN SCAR series now features dual, non-reciprocating charging handles that enable users to shoot from any position or use any grip style. Acclaimed for reliability and versatility, FN SCAR rifles are capable of consistent accuracy from their cold hammer-forged and chrome-lined barrels and one-piece forged aluminum receiver. They deliver precision fire with aid from their fully adjustable buttstock, low-flash gas regulator and fast-handling characteristics uncommon in similar rifle platforms.
The MultiCam pattern is arguably one of the most popular camouflage patterns currently used by conventional and special operations forces worldwide. According to Crye Precision, the MultiCam pattern was developed to effectively limit the visual and near-IR signature of a person operating across a very wide range of physical environments and seasons. After many successful evaluations, combat use, and becoming the officially issued pattern of the U.S. Army for all Afghanistan operations in 2010, MultiCam is the proven multi-environment concealment solution.
