Why They’ll Love It: There are a lot of very good compact 9mms on the market, but the Springfield Hellcat Pro is certainly one of the best. Trijicon Huron Riflescope

Shadow Systems’ CR920 Elite

Buy It For: The handgun enthusiast who appreciates premium features.

Why They’ll Love It: The quality of the pistols coming out of Shadow Systems’ Plano, Texas facility is very impressive. Their CR920 Elite pistol has a similar footprint to a Glock G43X MOS and G48 MOS so it functions in holsters designed for those guns. The Elite version comes with texturing on the front, rear, and top of the slide, and the slide is milled to allow direct mounting of micro footprint red dot sights. The included metal iron sights (blacked out rear, green tritium front) are very good, though, and the 3.41-inch match grade, spiral-fluted barrel and 4.5 to 5-pound trigger make this one of the most accurate subcompact 9mms on the market. Despite weighing just 17.8 ounces unloaded the CR920 elite has a capacity of 10 rounds with the flush-fit magazine and 13-rounds with the extended magazine.
