New Original Henry Cody Firearms Museum .44-40 Rifle: Very Limited Run

Davidson's, a firearms, optics, and accessories wholesaler, has partnered with Henry Repeating Arms, Baron Engraving, and the Cody Firearms Museum to bring to market a stunning New Original Henry in .44-40.

New Original Henry Cody Firearms Museum .44-40 Rifle: Very Limited Run

This third edition Cody Firearms Museum Collectors Series Henry New Original Rifle is a beautiful example of a highly engraved Henry faithfully recreated in the style of one of America’s most famous 19th Century firearm engravers, Louis Daniel Nimschke. Nimschke, unlike other engravers of his time, did not work directly for a firearm manufacturer but commissioned work from his New York City Studio.  Striking in appearance, Nimschke’s style features a combination of bold American scroll coupled with fine European detailing. To produce this special rifle Baron Engraving combined the latest in etching technology with the old-world craftsmanship of hand-engraving to deliver a stunning rifle. The brass receiver features 90% coverage, a nickel finish which is complemented by brilliantly polished and nitre-blued screws, and a highly figured walnut stock with nickel-plated furniture. This Cody Museum Collectors Series rifle is limited to 300 units and each comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.

Our New Original Henry is true to Benjamin Tyler Henry’s 1860 patterns and patents, and virtually identical aside from concessions necessary to adapt to the .44-40 centerfire round that replaced the long-obsolete rimfires. This rifle uses a specially-formulated hardened brass receiver with the same tensile strength as steel and is fitted with a one-piece octagonal barrel and magazine, fancy grade American Walnut stock, a classic folding ladder rear sight and blade front, traditional half-cock safety hammer notch, and no modernized manual safety.

“Obviously, we are thrilled to be a part of this project and bring our third edition Davidson’s Exclusive collectors series to market”, said Kane Cannedy, VP of Purchasing for Davidson’s. “The Cody Firearms Museum is a national treasure for the firearms enthusiast and students of history and we couldn’t be happier to help support this resource.”

“We are so proud to do our part to help support the museum and the opportunity to celebrate the work of L.D. Nimschke, one of America’s most influential firearm engravers,” said David Miles, President Baron Engraving.  “This 3rd offering in the Cody Firearms Museum Collector’s Series represents of some of our team’s best work, and we hope that if Nimschke were able to see these rifles, he would be as impressed with our work as we are with his.”

This Collectors Series 3rd Edition carries a special serial number range of 2021CFM001 through 2021CFM300. Serial number 1 will be auctioned on GunBroker with all proceeds from the sale going to the museum. In addition, a portion of all proceeds from the sale of the rest of this limited production run will be donated to the museum by Davidson’s.

“This rifle is truly one of the most spectacular that we have ever done thanks to all involved, and there is no doubt that they will be the centerpiece of every collection they end up in,” said Anthony Imperato, CEO and Founder of Henry Repeating Arms. “It is our privilege to help support the Cody Firearms Museum so that they can continue preserving America’s rich firearms history for many more generations to come.”

This very limited edition Cody Firearms Museum New Original Henry in .44-40 (Item# H011CFM) carries an MSRP of $4,150.00.
