Pistol Caliber Carbine (PCC) competition has exploded in popularity. To meet that demand, SIG Sauer enhanced the 4.5-inch-barreled MPX K to create the MPX PCC. Firearms News Senior Field Editor David Fortier visited the SIG Sauer Academy to learn more about the MPX PCC in 9mm.
The MPX PCC features a true 16-inch barrel, and it ships with a three-port muzzlebrake for competition use. SIG Sauer also partnered with Timney Triggers to design a trigger unit specifically for this model with competition as the focus. The MPX PCC also carries an M4-style handguard that fits the hand well, and the highly desirable folding stock is also included.
As it is part of the MPX line, parts are interchangeable. If you already own an MPX K, you only need a barrel and handguard to create the MPX PCC. After our time on the range, we can’t help but to believe that it won’t be long before we start seeing the MPX PCC dominating competitions.
