While we already know Black Friday is the busiest shopping day of the year, did you know its earliest known mention came long before its name? The 1951 journal, “Factory Management and Maintenance” brings up the popular employee practice of calling off sick the day after Thanksgiving for a four-day weekend. Although this seems completely implausible by today’s standards, (who are we kidding? It’s completely plausible) we still manage to find time for this morning-bird holiday that’s gained some serious traction for shoppers and retailers alike, taking them out of the “red” and into the “black.” So, in the spirit of holiday power shopping, on and off the well-beaten beaten track, Guns & Ammo reached out for the exclusive pre-Black Friday sales scoop on everything we love to love, but for less.
