Beretta USA has announced a new member of the 92X family with the new 92X Performance Carry Optic. Designed specifically for competition use, the 92X Performance line of pistols have been developed in collaboration with top competitive shooters. Out of the box, the pistols are optimized to maximize accuracy and consistency. The 92X Performance Carry Optic model takes aim at the USPSA (United States Pistol Shooting Association) Carry Optic division and is compliant with all regulations. This includes using a frame-mounted, ambidextrous safety lever.

The newest model retains the same ergonomics and features of the popular 92X Performance platform including an optic-ready slide. For the 92X Performance Carry Optic, two Toni System optic plates will be included to offer compatibility with four popular red-dot footprints. And, for those who just want a capable competition gun, sans optics, or who intend to shoot in multiple divisions, the new 92X wears a high-visibility fiber optic front sight which is paired with an adjustable rear sight. The sights do not cowitness with an installed optic as this gun is targeted toward competition, not defensive use.

The hallmark of the 92X Performance series has been the steel Vertec frame, which is carried on in the Carry Optic model.  Optimized for ergonomics and weight balance, the gun tips the scale with a 47.6-ounce overall weight and features a higher beaver tail as well as front- and backstrap texturing for improved purchase, handling and recoil management. The generous magazine well has been contoured and flared for faster reloads, and the magazine release is oversized and reversible to accommodate right or left-handed shooters. Two magazines with extended baseplates are included with 15- or 10-round capacities, depending on preference and local regulations.

Also incorporated is the Xtreme-S Trigger, which is fully adjustable for take-up, break and overtravel. The Xtreme-S system allows for fine-tuning the press to the shooter’s preference and provides up to a 40 percent reset reduction in travel compared to the standard 90-series triggers. This adjustability makes the Xtreme-S the most advanced pistol trigger that Beretta has ever produced.
