Eric R. Poole
Eric R. Poole is the 14th editor for Guns & Ammo magazine, a position he has held since December 2013. Previously, he served as the editor-in-chief of Guns & Ammo’s Special Interest Publications division, as a writer and armorer for NRA Publications and as an armorer for Blackwater and has been evaluating small arms for 20 years. Poole is a VMI graduate and a U.S. Marine Corps combat veteran; his service as an armorer and primary marksmanship instructor included a deployment in support of the invasion of Iraq in 2003. Poole is married with two children, and his passions include collecting historical firearms and memorabilia, hunting and competitive shooting.
Unarguably one of the most experienced hunters of his generation, Craig Boddington was born in Kansas where his early big game hunting experience included whitetails and then mule deer and antelope in Wyoming and Colorado. Following his graduation from the University of Kansas on a NROTC scholarship, he received a regular commission in the United States Marine Corps.
In 1979 Craig joined Petersen Publishing Company where he served on Guns & Ammo and eventually became the editor of Petersen’s Hunting in 1983. For the last thirty years, Craig has hunted around the world and his record is unassailable, taking hundreds of species on every continent except Antarctica.
