Steyr Arms has been known for their sniper rifles since the 1960s. Accuracy and dependability have also been staples of Steyr Arms since they started making rifles. Scott O'Brien from Steyr Arms sat down with Michael Bane at SHOT Show 2018 to take a look at Steyr's new tactical heavy barrel sniper rifle in 6.5mm Creedmoor.
Steyr fans have been asking for this new rifle for a while, and O'Brien was happy to announce this new rifle. O'Brien said they are planning on having this new rifle out in late January. With shooters beginning to extend their distances, along with the 6.5 Creedmoor being great for long distance shooting, it was the right time for Steyr to release a rifle in this caliber. The rifle is already testing at less than one MOA with factory ammunition, which should be expected from a Steyr rifle.
This rifle is great for both the range and on a hunt. This rifle is built to withstand weather conditions and heavy use. O'Brien said the 6.5 Creedmoor is here to stay, and this rifle is perfect for the caliber. If the rifle doesn't meet the high expectations, O'Brien said he will buy it back no questions asked.
