SPOTTED: Pro-Gun Celebrities at SHOT Show 2015

This year's SHOT Show was attended by nearly 67,000, second in record attendance only to the 2014 event. It's always interesting to see what celebrities and honored guests show up to explore the miles of aisles of new products, and this year we made a list of our sightings.

Chipper Jones

Nominated for two Sportsman Choice Awards for his show, "Major League Bowhunter," MLB World Series Champion Chipper Jones appeared at the awards banquet and at the 2015 SHOT Show.

Clinton L. Romesha

Awarded the Medal of Honor on Feb. 11, 2013 for his service in Afghanistan, Staff Sgt. Clinton L. Romesha held a meet-and-greet at the Darley Defense booth.

Dakota Meyer, Mat Best & Tim Kennedy

Medal of Honor recipient Sgt. Dakota Meyer (left) joins Mat Best (internet sensation for "Epic Rap Battle: Navy SEAL vs. Army Ranger"), while trying to wrestle down U.S. Army Sgt. First-Class/MMA Fighter Tim Kennedy.

Dan Bilzerian

Social media mogul, playboy and gun enthusiast Dan Bilzerian was spotted at SIG Sauer's Range Day — making it rain .300 BLK brass with full-auto mag dumps through a suppressed, select-fire SBR version of the new SIG Sauer MCX.

Erik Estrada

Karl Malone/Tom Selleck/Chuck Norris

Noticeably absent from the 2015 SHOT Show were some of our favorite pro-gun celebs: Karl Malone, Tom Selleck, and of course Chuck Norris. Though Chuck Norris could have obviously roundhouse-kicked the SHOT Show doors down, we look forward to hopefully seeing him and other pro-gun celebrities at the show in 2016.

Kelly Carlson

Kelly Carlson, an actress you may recognize from the show 'Nip/Tuck, ' left us impressed at her knowledge and conversation surrounding all things gun.

Madison Rising

"America's Most Patriotic Band," Madison Rising, opened the Sportsman Choice Awards with the National Anthem and made an appearance on the SHOT Show floor the next day.

Matt Hughes

UFC Champion Matt Hughes continues to fight for our rights, and was seen supporting Team Hornady and his show, "Uncaged with Matt Hughes."

Michael Rooker

Best known for playing Merle Dixon from "The Walking Dead," Michael Rooker joined the champion competitive shooting Miculek family. Photo: Jerry Miculek Facebook

R. Lee Ermey

"The Gunny," R. Lee Ermey, made another faithful SHOT Show appearance, signing autographs with Glock. Make sure to catch a marathon of his show, "Saving Private K-9," on Feb. 7 from 4-8 p.m. ET. He also has a new show, "Gunny Time," coming up on Outdoor Channel.

Randy Couture

Former MMA legend Randy Couture showed up as 'Raden ' to Crye Precision's incredibly fun Nintendo-themed costume party. He was also seen testing new guns at SIG Sauer Range Day.

Sammy Lee Davis

SHOT Show was graced with the presence of another Medal of Honor recipient, Sgt. First Class Sammy L. Davis, who appeared at the Sportsman's Guide and VooDoo Tactical booths.

Steven Seagal

Perhaps best known for his role in stopping a band of terrorists from overtaking a U.S. Navy battleship in the movie "Under Siege," Steven Seagal is now a regular at the SHOT Show, and his appearance is well received every year.

Taya Kyle

Taya Kyle, wife of the late "American Sniper" Chris Kyle, hosted a non-profit raffle for AmericanSnipers.org. The group auctioned five rifles, one of them being a McMillan .338 signed by Taya Kyle like one that Chris Kyle used in combat, which sold for $62,000 at auction. In an unexpected surprise, AmericanSnipers.org awarded the $62,000 sum to Taya Kyle and her family.

Ted Nugent

Motor City Madman Ted Nugent is always a SHOT Show favorite. This year he accepted an Outdoor Channel Golden Moose Award for his show, "Spirit of the Wild," and made an appearance with Sarah Palin at the Sportsman Channel's booth.

Willie Robertson

Duck Commander and "Outdoor Channel Buck Commander star" Willie Robertson and a few members of his family drew a crowd at Mossberg's booth that seemed follow him everywhere.

Sarah Palin

"Guns & Ammo is my favorite firearm publication," exclaimed Sarah Palin as she kicked off season two of her show, "Amazing America with Sarah Palin," at the Sportsman Channel's booth. Tune-in to her show at 9 p.m. ET.

Dana Loesch

Dana Loesch (right), host of 'The Dana Show ' on The Blaze and author of 'Hands Off My Gun, ' met G&A Editor Eric Poole (center). She also appeared at the Outdoor Channel's 15th Annual Golden Moose Awards.

Craig Harrison

Craig Harrison, Corporal of the Horse (CoH) in the British Army, holds the Guinness Book of World Records longest confirmed sniper kill in combat at a range of 2,475m. His book, 'The Longest Kill, ' documented his accomplishments at this year's SHOT Show.

Bill Engvall

Comedian Bill Engvall took the stage at the NSSF State of the Industry dinner, only after Jay Leno cancelled under the protests of a few Sandy Hook family members. Engvall was also the subject of controversy, disappointing his 'Blue Collar Comedy ' fan base for telling Bill Maher in 2011 that he'd be willing to compromise the Second Amendment, and doubling down in 2012 by saying, 'Now I don't think we need to take away guns from people, ' he says. 'All I said was, 'I don't see any point in a civilian owning an AK-47. That's a military rifle to kill people.' ' At the NSSF's State of the Industry dinner, Engvall concluded his comedy skit by apologizing to the audience. He asked forgiveness for these comments, reaffirmed his absolute support of 2A rights and said, 'I said some things to try and make everyone happy, when I should have stuck to the values I've held my whole life. ' Only time will tell if the industry will accept his message.

Warne Scope Mounts has unveiled several new red-dot sight riser mounts at the 2024 SHOT Show. One of the challenges of mounting a red dot to a long gun is getting the optimal height setting. Smith & Wesson's John Myles has been a regular on the New Product Premier, and he joins Joe Kurtenbach to run it back again at SHOT Show 2024. Last year the company introduced the Response pistol caliber carbine (PCC), an AR-styled platform designed to run off commonly available semiautomatic pistol magazines. A direct-blowback action powers the Response, but what sets the gun apart is its interchangeable magazine well. Mag wells are easy to swap for owners, and the Response comes with both an M&P mag option, as well as a mag well for Glock-pattern 9mm magazines. New for 2024 is a magazine well for SIG Sauer P320 mags. No matter what pistol platform you choose to shoot, Smith & Wesson wants you to rely on the Response for your PCC needs.
