Gun Culture News Guns & Ammo of the Year Awards 2014 G&A Staff October 29th, 2014 | More From G&A Staff Share0 Tweet Email Share on Facebook.Share on Twitter.Share on Google+It’s been a decade since this publication recognized the most impactful products in the firearms industry with an annual award. That’s about to change. x The staff and contributors of this magazine have met privately to discuss, compare notes and debate in Roundtable fashion every new product introduced within the last calendar year. No one person guided the group in the direction of a single product or company. Guns & Ammo of the Year Awards were chosen in the December 2014 issue of G&A. Subscribe here to print, digital or both! To begin, rules were laid out to keep each other honest, and advertising representatives were not invited. If we didn’t have hands-on experience with a product, it wasn’t considered. The victors in each category have earned their spot based on the merits of performance, proven long-term durability, value for their cost and availability to you, the enthusiast. There are no runners-up. There are no ties. There is no second place. Categories were kept simple: firearms, optics, ammunition and suppressors. Though we’ve all seen several worthwhile accessories come to the market in the last 12 months, the Guns & Ammo staff agreed that adding too many categories would dilute the significance of this effort. Manufacturers were not notified in advance or consulted during this process. These results are as true as we can make them, and we look forward to re-establishing the Guns & Ammo of the Year award as this industry’s benchmark for achievement. G&A editor Eric R. Poole appeared on the following segment of NRA News Cam & Co. to discuss our picks for the Guns & Ammo of the Year awards.
