winchester_deer_season_XPWinchester Ammunition is continuing to develop cartridges tailored for specific hunting applications. In 2012, the company introduced its Razorback XT for hog hunters, and it released Long Beard XR for taking down turkeys at long range in 2013. This past year, it added Rooster XR for pheasants.

Winchester is now introducing an upcoming centerfire rifle cartridge for 2015 purposely built for deer hunting: Deer Season XP.

The new loads specifically address the needs of deer hunters and feature Winchester’s new Extreme Point bullets. The bullets incorporate a redesigned polymer tip with a larger impact diameter than conventional polymer-tipped and softpoint bullets, translating into rapid expansion and increased impact trauma for larger wound cavities.
