New Wilson Combat 1911 – American Combat Pistol (ACP)

Hand built in Arkansas, the Wilson Combat American Combat Pistol (ACP) 1911 features all the precision, craftsmanship and quality associated with a Wilson Combat custom handgun at a lower, package price.

The Wilson Combat American Combat Pistol (ACP) is built with quality parts in the same time-tested way as their other custom 1911 handguns, but with reduced customer-selected options that streamlines production and enables a lower price to the end user.

Available in .45 ACP and 9mm Luger chamberings, the American Combat Pistol (ACP) 1911 features Wilson’s latest generation forged slide, frame and barrels that are hand fitted by skilled pistolsmiths with 100 percent machined Bullet Proof parts for a lifetime of high performance. The ACP retains Wilson Combat’s 100-percent Customer Satisfaction Guarantee for the lifetime of the product.

The ACP also introduces the new Eagle Claw grip and slide surface to set it apart from the rest of the pack. The Eagle Claw pattern offers a non-abrasive, tactile grip under adverse conditions but is still easy on your hands and clothing during extended range trips and every day carry.  The unique look and feel of the Eagle Claw is like nothing else Wilson Combat has produced.

Available in Full-Size 5-, 4.25-inch Commander or 4-inch Compact sizes in Armor Tuff finished carbon steel with limited customer selected options available, the ACP brings Wilson Combat quality to more American shooters than ever before.

NOTE: Customer options are limited to: finish, sight choice and grip choice (black or black/gray only).

Shooting 600 Yards with .300 Blackout

The .300 Blackout cartridge was developed to provide greater effectiveness than a 9mm at short and medium ranges when fired from a short-barreled suppressed firearm. Just because the cartridge wasn't designed to go long doesn't mean Rifles & Optics Editor Tom Beckstrand won't take it there, using a large-format pistol, no less. Armed with SIG Sauer's 9-inch-barreled MCX Virtus Pistol loaded with Black Hills' 125-grain TMK ammunition, Beckstrand attempts to ring steel at 600 yards with help from Hornady's 4DOF ballistic calculator in this segment of “Long Range Tech.”
