Top Selling Guns | December 2025

Ruger rules the rifle roost.

Top Selling Guns | December 2025

The December edition of GunBroker.com's Top Selling Report presented by GunGenius.com, showed an interesting development in the new semi-automatic rifle category. Every gun in the top five was a Ruger. As the largest firearm manufacturer in the United States, that’s probably not a huge surprise. With net sales of $395 million in the first three quarters of 2025, it’s safe to say that Ruger is on a roll.

Some of the guns in the top five are unsurprising, while others might be unexpected.

In the fifth spot is the Mini-14. So named because it looks like a shrunken version of the M14, the Mini-14 was introduced in 1973 and was the brain child of Bill Ruger and Jim Sullivan, who also helped design the Ruger M77. Today, the Mini-14 is available in three different families - Ranch, Tactical, and Mini Thirty - with 23 different variants in 5.56 NATO, .300 Blackout, and 7.62x39.

Spot number four is held by the PC Carbine. As the name suggests, this carbine is chambered for the 9mm Luger pistol caliber. The takedown design makes the PC Carbine easy to transport with many of the models sporting threaded barrels for the addition of a suppressor or other muzzle device. Interchangeable magwells allow the gun to utilize commonly available Ruger and Glock magazines.

Coming in at number three is the LC Carbine, which stands for Light Compact. Equipped with folding stocks and weighing between 5.9 and 7.4 pounds, these guns are indeed both light and compact. Originally offered in 5.7x28mm, the LC Carbine is also now available in .45 ACP and 10mm Auto. An ambidextrous safety and reversible charging handle make the gun friendly to southpaws, too.

The number two spot is home to the SFAR, or Small-Frame Autoloading Rifle. Chambered in .308 Winchester / 7.62 NATO and 6.5 Creedmoor, the SFAR offers AR-10 firepower in a package that’s closer in size to the smaller AR-15. Available with 16- or 20-inch barrels, each one comes standard with a two-stage trigger that breaks at 4.5 pounds.

It comes as absolutely no surprise that the number one spot is held by the iconic 10/22. Introduced in 1964, more than ten million of these rimfire rifles have been made. That’s more than 164,000 each year, every year, for the past six decades! Not content to rest on the design’s laurels, Ruger just announced that the 10/22 is being reintroduced with a variety of new improvements previously found only in select configurations. Designed to deliver even greater performance, this first round of models features a BX-Trigger, lightweight stock, match bolt release, and a receiver that incorporates a rear cleaning port.

Ruger’s dominance of the new semi-automatic rifle category is proof-positive that Alexander Sturm’s and Bill Ruger’s names are firmly cemented in the pantheon of American arms makers.
