Real World Training: Stopping Home Invasion

Stopping a home invasion. For most, this is the top personal defense scenario in their minds when considering a firearm purchase.

The Guns & Ammo experts simulate a home invasion and showcase very clearly why a shotgun is an ideal personal defense weapon.

In this simulation, a female homeowner is at the top of the stairs in her "home." An intruder has entered the house and approaches the stairs. The shotgun is deployed with -- and without -- a laser-aided aiming device.

During the simulation, three different scenarios are used: In the first, the presence of the shotgun with its long barrel and distinctive loading sound is enough to deter the intruder. In the second scenario, the intruder begins to ascend the steps and the "homeowner" uses the laser device to take the shot. And, finally, in the third scenario the shot is taken without the laser device.

The video does an excellent job of outlining the process to be used when defending your home and illustrating why a shotgun is an ideal personal defense weapon for women.
