Among his extensive list of successful machine guns, one of John M. Browning's most famous designs was the 1919 machine gun.
Originally chambered in .30-06, the 1919 improved upon Browning's previous designs in several ways. Most notably, the 1919's air-cooled barrel was more portable and greatly reduced amount of weight soldiers had to haul around the battlefield.
Browning's 1919 machine gun saw combat in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. Many of Browning's designs still thrive today, but the 1919 is an unforgettable classic.
