New Editors at Guns & Ammo

Though I am the chief steward of the Guns & Ammo brand, its continued reputation as “the world’s most widely read firearms publication” would not be without the hard work of corporate leadership, advertising sales, art, editorial and the production staff. Guns & Ammo has resolved to guard the brand’s future with the installment of three talents.

The Outdoor Sportsman Group (OSG) is pleased to announce the appointment of Jack Oller to the position of managing editor, Guns & Ammo. Oller began working for OSG in 2018 as an editor with Guns & Ammo’s Special Interest Publication (SIP) Division, and most recently as the digital editor for OSG’s shooting websites including Firearms News, Handguns, Rifleshooter and Shooting Times. In his new position, Oller assumes a key role in managing content creation for the magazine and Guns & Ammo TV, while supporting expanded coverage of firearms, ammunition, optics and accessories to the brand’s various digital and social media platforms. Oller received a Bachelor of Arts in English from Illinois State University and is expected to complete the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program from the University of Missouri in May 2025. Before joining OSG, Oller served six years with the U.S. Army Military Police, including a deployment to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. In addition to hunting, Oller is an active competitive shotgun shooter and has participated in precision rifle matches.

Antonio Acitelli has been promoted to digital editor, Guns & Ammo. Acitelli began working for OSG in 2021 as Guns & Ammo’s associate editor. Acitelli expanded his responsibilities to include formatting, editing, and optimizing articles for gunsandammo.com. His efforts directly contributed to an increased reach and engagement among shooting and hunting enthusiasts. Acitelli assumes the management of content creation for Guns & Ammo’s website, while contributing articles to the magazine, appearing on Guns & Ammo TV, and supporting the brand’s social media presence. Acitelli will enhance the timely coverage of firearms, ammunition, optics and accessories online and throughout OSG’s social media platforms. Acitelli received a Bachelor of Arts in Editing, Writing, and Media, from Florida State University, and a Master of Communications and Journalism from Cardiff University, United Kingdom, in 2021. When not evaluating or posting articles on the latest firearm-­related products, Acitelli can be found afield as an active hunter and outdoorsman.

Lisa Beuning was selected for the position of copy editor for Guns & Ammo and the brand’s SIPs. In addition to maintaining the Guns & Ammo styleguide, she will edit content for Guns & Ammo and more than 20 annual editions. 

Beuning came to OSG following 23 years with Blue Book Publications. While working with Blue Book, she supervised and managed content development and the editing process for various titles including “Blue Book of Gun Values,” “Ammo Encyclopedia,” and three books on Colt revolvers by Gurney Brown, “Seven Serpents” (2015), “Colt’s Python, King of the Seven Serpents” (2018), and “Colt’s Double Action Revolvers, The Post-War Era“ (2021). Most recently, Beuning expanded her responsibilities as the editor following the passing of S. P. “Steve” Fjestad, founding publisher. Her work expanded the brand’s reach and engagement among gun collectors and shooters.

Though Guns & Ammo’s staff, editors and contributors include the most senior and experienced experts, the brand also possesses the youngest talent in firearms media. The effort ensures G&A’s appeal to a younger audience, and that our Second Amendment rights and outdoor pursuits will be available and enjoyed by the next generation.
