For 52 years, shooters have trusted MTM Case-Gard products to store, stack and protect everything from ammunition to all sorts of valuables. However, in that time, they hadn’t produced a case for long guns — until now.

Designed to fit and protect all sorts of rifles and shotguns up to 42 inches long, the MTM Tactical Rifle Case features the durable molded construction we’ve come to expect from the company. It comes with four rugged snap clasps — one on each end and two on the side — and locking points.

Not only can you easily stack the cases for storage, the cases are designed with transportation in mind. Besides standing up to airport adventures, the cases can do field duty as well. Designers have shaped the case in such a way to make it easier for securing the case and its contents with tie-down strapping — perfect for use on ATVs.

MTM didn’t stop there. They included additional security on board by providing adjustable interior Velcro strapping. These straps can be secured to the case directly in a number of convenient patterns and then fed through the foam padding to wrap around your firearms.

While the case is not completely waterproof or dust proof, the case is rugged. I’ve been using one to haul my ARs and other rifles back and forth to the range for a while now. Along the way, I’ve encountered enough shooting benches, cement platforms and door frames to know they’ll take a beating, all the while keeping the guns from rattling around inside.

Just like Henry Ford’s early models, you can have any color of case as long as its black. But just like that early auto, the MTM case is made-in-America and provides affordable safeguarding of your guns for only $73.

Shooting 600 Yards with .300 Blackout

Shooting 600 Yards with .300 Blackout

The .300 Blackout cartridge was developed to provide greater effectiveness than a 9mm at short and medium ranges when fired from a short-barreled suppressed firearm. Just because the cartridge wasn't designed to go long doesn't mean Rifles & Optics Editor Tom Beckstrand won't take it there, using a large-format pistol, no less. Armed with SIG Sauer's 9-inch-barreled MCX Virtus Pistol loaded with Black Hills' 125-grain TMK ammunition, Beckstrand attempts to ring steel at 600 yards with help from Hornady's 4DOF ballistic calculator in this segment of “Long Range Tech.”

Pocket-Pistol Carry Tips and Tricks

Pocket carry, as a method of concealed carry for a defensive firearm, can be a practical option when done right. This is especially true during the colder months when heavy outer garments can obstruct access to a traditional waistline holster. Former U.S. Navy SEAL Jeff Gonzales, president of Trident Concepts, joins G&A contributor Kimberly Heath-Chudwin to discuss guns, training and gear, including Blackhawk's TecGrip holster that can make pocket carry more successful.

Trijicon RMRcc Reflex Sight – Perfect for Optics-Ready Concealed-Carry Pistols

The people asked and Trijicon answered. Introducing the RMRcc miniature red-dot sight for compact, concealed-carry pistols. Trijicon's new RMRcc features the durability and reliable controls that have made the RMR so successful, but its reduced dimensions make the “Concealed Carry” model better suited for the popular small-frame pistols designed for discreet carry and personal defense.
