Following the success of the VX-5HD, Leupold have announced the second generation of their precision riflescope, with new features and their Professional-Grade Optical System. The Professional-Grade Optical System offers improved light transmission designed to outperform in the most challenging lighting conditions, industry-leading glare reduction for a clear image in harsh, direct light, and the resolution and clarity that Leupold notes will meet the demand of hunters in the field.
Another feature of note is the speedset elevation dial. The CDS-SZL2 elevation dial eliminates the need for tools when zeroing or changing custom dials and dialing accuracy that mirrors the high-performance aspects which define the Mark series of Leupold riflescopes. In addition, number markings have been increased in size for quicker, more confident dialing in the field.
The new maintube design allows for increased internal travel for elevation that provides a critical advantage when taking longer shots, and like other Leupold scopes, is designed to withstand the harshest conditions. Leupold notes that advanced, internal gasses and sealing methods guarantee ultra-rugged scopes to be waterproof, fogproof and shockproof for life. Guard-Ion hydrophobic lens coating repels water, dirt, and fingerprints while preserving clarity and maximizing light transmission.
