First Look: Kinetic Development SAS — SCAR Adaptable Stock System

KDG_SAS_SCAR_Stock_FKinetic Development Group (KDG) has created a number of tactical solutions for the FN SCAR rifle platform, and the company is continuing that trend with the introduction of its new SAS — SCAR Adaptable Stock System.

The new KDG SAS — SCAR Adaptable Stock System pairs the SCAR rifle with Magpul's sturdy Masada (ACR-E) stock system using a high-strength coupling made of 6061 T6 aluminum billet. The black hard coat anodized coupling reinforces the stock and rear end of the SCAR's thin, extruded U-shaped receiver. The fully assembled SAS stock system weighs 1/4-pound less than the standard polymer factory SCAR stock assembly.

Built with features designed to improve the SCAR's versatility, the KDG SAS stock system offers seven telescoping positions of length adjustment and utilizes an adjustable cheek riser for varying cheek weld height to fit the shooter. The system also incorporates an ambidextrous quick-detach (QD) sling attachment point and a weatherproof CR123 battery compartment.

The KDG SAS stock system comes with a side-folding feature that operates using spring lock tension. As with the factory stock, the firearm can be fired while the stock is in the folded position, but the KDG stock system also comes with an optional set-screw if the user decides to lock the stock in place.

The KDG SAS — SCAR Adaptable Stock System comes fully assembled and requires no tools for installation. It is available in black or Magpul brown for $299.
