Once widely popular for hunting and competition, long-range handgun shooting has since faded from the mainstream in recent years. Achieving rifle-like accuracy from formidable distances of 100 to 1,000 yards was once the goal of firearm innovators by the names of Bob Milek, J.D. Jones, Steve Herrett and Larry Kelly. These days, most handgun shooting has become abbreviated to self-defense distances.
However, long-range handgunning is coming back into the spotlight (at least for now), with the Kahr Arms Long-Range Shooting YouTube Video Contest. The contest invites shooters to video themselves hitting targets at 100 yards or greater with a Kahr handgun and then upload the clip to YouTube. To enter the contest, upload the video clip to your YouTube channel and complete the Contest Submission Form. The winner will be awarded a $5,000 gift card, redeemable for Kahr firearms group merchandise from: Kahr Arms, Magnum Research, Auto Ordnance and Thompson.
Just for fun, we took a shot at the contest using a Kahr TP-9 handgun off-hand from 100 yards with Hornady 9mm 115-grain Critical Defense. Check out our video and be sure to upload yours by December 31, 2014 for your chance to win!
