Back in days gone by, buyers of hunting and shooting optics basically got what they paid for.
As manufacturing processes and available technology has improved, that's not necessarily so anymore according to OSG live stream host Michael Bane, who along with Scott Billingsley of Hawke Sport Optics, showed off some great examples of high-quality scopes and binoculars with an affordable price tag.
When Billingsley stopped by the OSG set during the 40th SHOT Show, he brought along several scopes in the Hawke Sport Optics line including Endurance, Sidewinder, and Frontier models. With features including such things as throw levers, 30mm tubes, 4 ½-inch eye-relief, and 30 to 35% wider fields of view, there was much to like no matter the model chosen.
Then Billingsley showed Bane one of four first focal plane models available from the United Kingdom manufacturer for 2018, something that is a definite trend in the scope building industry.
He then finished up by showing Bane the company's Frontier EDX binocular, which comes in 8X42 and 10X42 models with extra-dispersion glass, high-end coatings, and superb clarity, top features that put this affordable glass into the quality category of optics that cost several times more only a few years ago.
With consumer price tags ranging from $475 to $800 depending on the product selected, the bottom line in Hawke Sport Optics' 2018 line-up is that it is full of innovation and value that long-range shooters, competition and target shooters, and hunters will find to be much to their liking.
Especially when it comes to the effects they discover both in the field and in their bank account!
