SIG Sauer took the world by storm when they unveiled the P365 on the cover of Guns & Ammo’s May 2018 issue, and everyone was just as excited when its next iteration, the P365 XL, was launched on the cover of G&A’s October 2019 issue. In this segment from Guns & Ammo TV’s “At The Range,” former Special Operations Officer Tom Beckstrand offers his review of the P365 XL.
The P365 XL was a continuation of the P365 series that offers an extended the grip frame to accept a larger capacity magazine, which now holds a standard flush-fit magazine containing 12 rounds or an extended magazine carrying 15 rounds. Despite the increased grip length, it is still easy to conceal the P365 XL. Reloads are quick, too, with an integrated magwell.
Together with a longer grip and an extended beavertail design, recoil management is easier with the P365 XL, while the longer slide and barrel offers the shooter a longer sight radius and increased accuracy potential. To harness all of that potential, the P365 XL can be given a miniature red dot optic for more precise shot placement.
With all of these features, the P365 XL gives the concealed carry permit holder an ability to carry with confidence and travel in safety.
