Taurus has announced the GX2, a striker-fired 9mm handgun designed to meet the needs of first-time shooters as an entry-level pistol with an affordable price point.
In addition to extensive internal testing procedures and in advance of the official release, the GX2 was evaluated during a writers’ event at the Gunsite Academy. Over three days in Arizona's dry climate media professionals and firearm experts tested the handgun in various exercises. Taurus have stated that the tests proved the GX2 to be a reliable option for both new and seasoned shooters. Guns & Ammo writers also participated in this event, with an extended review to be featured in both print and online.

Features include a 13-round capacity, sharpshooter barrel, and MIL-STD-1913 accessory rail for mounting lights and lasers. A new frame has also been designed to allow shooters to gain a better grip during use.
