First Look: Aimpoint COA

Aimpoint has announced the COA, a new enclosed emitter optic designed for use on concealed carry handguns, released in collaboration with Glock.

First Look: Aimpoint COA

The Aimpoint COA is a new red dot designed for concealed carry handguns. This new optic is designed for use on both slimline and standard size pistol frames. When designing the COA, Aimpoint stated that it focused on prioritizing ease of use, reliability, and performance.

Testing data released alongside the launch of the COA shows vibration tolerance rated to 40,000 rounds of 9mm ammunition. An enclosed emitter and housing made of high strength aluminum are two factors that contributed to this tolerance.

Most notable about the COA is its new mounting system, which is a unique collaboration with Glock. The A-CUT system slots the optic directly into the slide of the pistol, providing multiple holding points that stabilize the sight in all directions. The deep cut that the COA rests in also allows for the optic to co-witness with factory iron sights. At launch, only Glock handguns will have the A-CUT system implemented, and pistols will come preassembled with the optic included directly from the factory.
