Eric Poole, Editor of Guns & Ammo magazine, talks with Browning’s Aaron Cummins about their new addition to the X-Bolt line of rifles during the 2019 NRA Annual Meetings. In “Browning speak,” Max means maximum adjustability. The X-Bolt Max has adjustable combs, adjustable length of pull through spacers, and you can shorten the recoil pad. The Max Long Range is oriented toward hunting, including a threaded barrel and a vertical pistol grip, making it great for bench use. The Target/Varmint configuration has a heavier barrel and a rail to attach bipods via picatinny. The Target/Varmint model is limited availability this year and will be in the line and fully available next year.
