Even though G&A already had the Beretta ARX 100 at the range weeks ago for an up-close and personal review, the public had yet to get a first look at the newest Italian-made battle rifle. Beretta planned a massive launch of the new offering at the NRA Annual Meetings in Houston this week, and the introduction went off without a hitch. And according to G&A's own Eric R. Poole, this third generation battle rifle is sure to impress consumers.
"If you're in the market for a relatively affordable third-generation battle rifle, the ARX 100 is it," Poole writes. "It handles well, is super reliable and offers the greatest tactical flexibility of anything out there. The bench shooter looking for a single-hole paper puncher should look elsewhere, but the ARX 100 is a practical and effective carbine for dynamic shooting scenarios — and is quite capable of pinging steel silhouettes at 600 meters."
We caught up with Rafe Bennett at the George R. Brown Convention Center to experience firsthand what all the hype is about.
