SurefireWristWatchSureFire 2211 Signature (Citizen Movement) $200

SureFire's new rechargeable 2211 Signature Series WristLight features a high-performance LED focused by a refractive optic that produces a maximum light output of 300 lumens for one hour on its high setting. It also incorporates a SureFire branded watch movement from Citizen Watch Company of America.

The 2211 Signature is designed to automatically align downrange when strapped to the support-side wrist when a pistol is held in a standard two-handed grip. The LED's output can be adjusted from 300 lumens to 60 and 15 lumens to increase runtime by pressing either of its ambidextrous switches.

A rechargeable lithium-ion battery powers the 2211 LED, while a separate non-rechargeable lithium disk battery powers the watch for continuous timekeeping even when the rechargeable battery is fully depleted. A built-in LED fuel gauge also notifies the user when it's time to recharge the battery, which can be accomplished with an USB charging cable (included).

Magpul-X-22-BackpackerMayflower RC 48-hour Pack by Velocity Systems $200

We, at Guns & Ammo, have been loyal users of Mayflower Research and Consulting gear for many years. Recently, Mayflower RC merged with sister company Velocity Systems. One of the new company's latest designs is a 48-hour assault pack.

The new pack is a midsized unit for everyday use or for short-duration operations. The pack is very lightweight using 500d Cordura and breathable, durable, and hydrophobic Durastretch 520e Tweave in strategic locations.

The pack features two main zippered pockets that include a separate hydration bladder sleeve and a small internal zippered pocket for items like a wallet, cell phone or keys. The slick front of the pack features a stash pocket secured by an ITW-Nexus IR buckle, as are the other polymer components. The pack features three strips of Pouch Attachment Ladder System (PALS) webbing on the left side for adding an additional pouch, and a water bottle pocket on the right side of the pack.

G&A editors were recently on a fast and light Colorado elk hunt and packed everything we needed into this pack for a day in the mountains and could not have been happier. As a bonus, all materials and workmanship are 100% made in the USA.

EmersonEmerson CQC-7F Flipper $240

Emerson's legendary CQC-7F is one of the most iconic tactical knives of modern times. The original was made popular by a select unit within U.S. Naval Special Warfare beginning in the 1990s and continues to be a staple within that and other tactical communities today.

The dimensions of the CQC-7F are ideal for a knife destined for multiple tasks. It's chisel-ground, 3.3-inch Tanto-style blade is constructed of tough S35VN steel and holds a razor-sharp edge. It balances nicely in-hand and features textured G-10 scales and a titanium frame and line lock.

As the CQC-7F evolved, Emerson added its patented Wave technology to the blade, allowing the knife to be snapped open upon being drawn from a pocket. This is faster and more reliable than any automatic, push-button knife could hope to be, and without state restrictions.

The next generation CQC-7F maintains the tried and true Wave component as well as thumb disc operation and adds a new feature we're starting to see more of – a flipper. This feature allows the user open the blade one-handed by using their index finger to naturally flip open the blade. This new feature now gives you three options of bringing your CQC-7 into action.

Dueck-Defense-RBUDueck Defense RBU $130

Barry Dueck, former U.S. Marine turned high-level competitive shooter, and head of SureFire's Suppressor Division, created an advanced mounting plate called the RBU, or Red Dot Back Up sight base.

What's unique about theRBU is that it integrates fixed iron sights into the base plate to replace the rear sight on a Glock or Smith & Wesson M&P pistol when a red dot sight is mounted.

Several different models are available and host most mini red dot sights on the market. All that is needed for installation is either a sight pusher, or a hammer and punch, and the RBU goes on like any aftermarket rear sight, while a pair of set screws provide an additional level of security.

Simply center the RBU in the dovetail, mount and zero your optic and you're in business. Iron sights will be visible in the center of your optics lens, or in the lower one-third as a reference or as a backup in case of optic failure.

In mid September, one of the G&A editors visiting the SIG Sauer Academy observed two new female shooters using the RBU during a training class. The gain in performance not only surprised the author, but also the class shooting instructor, who stated "their shooting is simply incredible." If you're on the fence about permanently modifying your pistol, Dueck Defense's RBU is a fine way to test the water.

MagpulX22Magpul X-22 Backpacker Stock $110

Magpul's new X-22 Backpacker stock for the Ruger 10/22 Takedown (TD is reminiscent of the Henry AR-7 semiautomatic U.S. Survival Rifle chambered in .22LR, a favorite of bush pilots and backcountry adventurers. What is unique about the X-22 is how the forend and barrel assembly lock into the stock during transport.

To takedown the stock, simply remove the barrel assembly by pressing the takedown plunger under the forearm and slide the chamber end of the barrel into a rubberized sleeve at the stock's toe. That's it and you're ready to move.

Aside from the convenience of the X-22's ability to stow within itself, two integrated storage compartments caught our attention during our review. The first is an O-ring-sealed, water-tight compartment within the grip that was sized to fit a Victorinox Huntsman knife, matches and tinder, plastic bags, etc. A second compartment is found beneath the hinged, removable/replaceable stock comb. This compartment is specifically engineered to accept three, 10-round 10/22 magazines or one 10-round magazine and a box of 50 .22LR cartridges. Removable dividers prevent rattling, and all items fit securely.

We set up our compartment to hold two magazines and two small Ziplock baggies containing 20 rounds each, which offers us 60 rounds on board — not to include an inserted magazine. That's an afternoon of fun in a small, compact package.

Traeger-Pro-Series-GrillsTraeger Pro Series Grills $800-$1,000

Hunters tend to eat what they hunt and arguably, there's no better way to prepare game than with Traeger Pro Series 22 and 34 grills. The reason is that Traeger grills use wood pellets that heat meat without the direct flame and chemicals that come from gas or charcoal.

Traeger grills uniformly bake and smoke food no matter which model you grill with. However, the Pro series features a controller that lets you set the temperature for precise heat control and offers two ports for using temperature probes so there's no guessing as to how done your meat is.

The secret ingredient to cooking your game with a Traeger grill is the smoke. Wood pellets such as hickory, mesquite, cherry, pecan and apple give your food rich flavor that a gas or charcoal grills lack. Plus, grilling with a Traeger isn't limited to meat, as users quickly learn, different smoke enhances the flavor of appetizers, breads, desserts and even vegetables.

The consistency provided with using a Traeger is unequal and will perfectly prepare meat you've brought from field to grill that will impress even the most reluctant person at the table. Plus, you'll look like the master among friends and family as you work over a Traeger.

Grilling and smoking greatness starts with the Pro Series at $800. Visit traegergrills.com to see recipes, videos and to learn more about grilling wood pellets.

5.11-Tactical-Cable5.11 Tactical Cable Hiker Boots $140

The new Cable Hiker boots from 5.11 Tactical look like footwear for a climber, which wouldn't surprise such an athlete that knows the company's name refers to one of the highest difficulty ratings given to a mountain. But 5.11 has developed a reputation for making tactical gear in service with law enforcement and militaries. That said, tactical athletes tend to enjoy wearing all-terrain capability when off duty. Enter the Cable Hiker.

The forefoot lugs are self-cleaning, which means you'll appreciate the traction available with each step. The Cable Hiker possesses the appearance of a climbing boot in part due to the suede outsole available in dark coyote (brown) with red laces or storm (gray) with black laces, red stitching and accents material. The forefoot is 16mm thick and the 30mm heel is Kevlar reinforced adding up to the Cable Hiker offering you excellent protection when steps go off the beaten path.

G&A's editors have been wearing this boot at the range, in the field and on the street for months, and remain impressed with the level of comfort and the toughness provided in this good-looking, lightweight hiker.

MCX-DEPLOYMENT_BAG-W-GUNSIG MCX Deployment Bag $218

The SIG Sauer MCX Deployment Bag is one of the most modular rifle platforms of our time that can accommodate a multitude of barrel lengths, calibers, handguard and stock/brace options.

Made for the MCX AR-style rifle, it is a high-quality, padded rifle bag, featuring a tool pouch, pouches to store a pair of short barrels and a pair on long barrels, as well as magazine pouches, all of which are Velcro backed for case customization.

A removable padded divider keeps components or another platform separated. One side of the divider features three large zipped mesh pockets, while the other side is coved in loop Velcro. The remainder of the compartments are lined in Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment (MOLLE)/Pouch Attachment Ladder System (PALS) webbing for additional customization at the user level. OutdoorEdgeParaClawOutdoor Edge Para-Claw $30

Para-Claw is an appropriate name for what looks like a benign bracelet made of woven 550 paracord. Intended for everyday carry (EDC), the Para-Claw conceals a 1½-inch hawkbill blade that's been ground from stainless steel and coated with a BlackStone finish.

When the claw is not out, it's secured in a guard that's tied to the paracord bracelet and said to be molded of a mixture of glass and nylon. Interestingly, when you grab and the serrated spine with your thumb and squeeze the hook to unlock, the claw can be quickly withdrawn and ready for self-defense — or box cutting. And it works for either right- or left-hand release. The length of the bracelet falls to the pull of gravity, intuitively forming a handle for precise control within the palm of your hand.

And it's important not to forget that by wearing a Para-Claw you are enhancing your preparedness. Making a Para-Claw part of your EDC means that you're resourceful because you'll not only have the benefit of a cutting edge at hand, but you'll also between 11 and 17 feet of 550 paracord available to pull you through most any survival situation.
