First Look: Springfield Armory 1911 Range Officer 9mm

by Dusty Gibson   |  December 18th, 2013   |   4

The Springfield Armory 1911 Range Officer 9mm is the newest extension to Springfield’s line of 1911 pistols. Built from the 1911 foundation, the 9mm Luger version offers reduced recoil compared to the standard .45 ACP Range Officer, while also feeding from nine-round magazines.

The 9mm Range Officer features an adjustable rear target sight, which rides atop a forged steel slide with a standard length guide rod and 5-inch match grade barrel. Its forged steel frame houses a 4.5- to 5-pound trigger, checkered mainspring housing and Cocobolo wood grips.

A paddle holster, double mag pouch, two steel magazines and cleaning brush are also included with the pistol in a plastic carrying case.

The 9mm Range Officer will be available in January 2014 for $977.

Watch the video below for an exclusive look at Springfield’s new 1911 at the range. For the full review, be sure to check out an upcoming Complete Book of the 1911, available on newsstands Mar. 11, 2014.

If you are to take my word, my personal favorite will always be the WG Full metal Sport 708 compact CO2 revolver pistol from AIRSOFTMEGASTORES. Yeah, i just love it. Topping out at a whopping 420 FPS with 0.20g seamless BBs at our chrono station, this CO2 pistol is extremely powerful. With a full metal frame and compact 2.5″ barrel, the Sport 708 semi-automatic CO2 revolver is built like a tank. This revolver is extremely reliable and very durable, making it perfect as a back-up pistol.

Not on the roster. SSE only which would cost you another 150 smacks. Or buy through private party.
