The 9/11 Revolver

This stainless steel Smith & Wesson j-frame revolver was carried into the World Trade Center on 9/11 by New York police officer Walter Weaver.

  • Philip Scott

My heart goes out to all those affected on that horrible day and hope and prayers are each and everyone and their famlies. Heros we're made that day and they will be remembered for their sacifirce.

    • Jess Hall

This made me cry. I have carried little Smith J-Frames like Walters gun for years. Looking at it, you cannot help but think of the hell it must have gone through while he was carrying it. To me, as an American and as a first responder, this firearm is as sacred as a nail from the True Cross. God Bless All That Perished that day. God Bless The First Responders. Never forget those that made them fall. Never.

  • Russ SR

They are all heroes, but if you could ask them, they would tell you they were, "just doing their jobs!" Its was amazing to see people come together as Americans, and unite, and everybody showed American Pride, and everybody seemed to be there for each other, unfortunately, that didn't last long, and it's a shame that it took something as terrible as that to wake people the hell up, this country would be a better place if we all acted like we did those few weeks after the attacks ALL THE TIME!!!!!!!! GOD BLESS!!!!

  • Don Moorehouse

I am a retired police officer, I now have the time to reflect on the braverly and courage of all police and firemen, especially the ones from New York. I now ask myself what would I have done that day if I were there. Public Safety personnel put themselves into dangerous situations without hesitation when the they are called. The hero's of 09/11/2001 ran into danger as other fled the scene in panic. They approached the scene in an organized manner in order to help. They died, doing their job in selfless acts of heroism. We lost the best of the best that day, God bless them and never forget.

Now we have cretins who are trying to invoke "seperation of church and state" at the 9-11 memorial.

There is NO mention of seperation of church and state in either the Constitution or the Bill of Rights!

We have Freedom OF Religion! Not freedom FROM religion!

    • Chris Brosnahan

Callin 'em cretins is givin' 'em too much credit, as well as an insult to the citizens of Crete!!! S%*tstains is a better term….as all mothers who do laundry know, a s%*tstain is both absolutely useless and impossible to get rid of, save throwing it out into the garbage….these folks are s%*tstains on the BVDs of the universe!!!

    • Sergio

      well said Britt

    • Garry

Actually, you are wrong. I'm a devout christian, but cherish the intense separation of church and state.

      • Dennis

Britt is RIGHT..Nothing in Constitution or Bill Of Rights that says Seperation of Church And State. The 1st Amendment to The Constitution says " Congress Shall Make No Laws Respecting an Establishment of Religion,or Prohibiting the Free Exercise Therof " This simply means Congress can establish a National Religion as was the case in England..( The Church of England)

        • Ted

Amendment 1: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment OF religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;…..

It does not say FROM religion.

      • Dale Bailey

Separation of church and state referrs to a state required religion a la Henry VIII's "Church of England" .It does not preclude religious ceremony in any government function

      • Darryl Rogers

Actually it is the State staying out of the Church, Not the Church staying out of the State.

    • Jason Childress

      totally agree

    • Al

Sorry Brit – but I need freedom from religion – you know – that's what caused all this in the 1st place!!!!!!

      • Ted

Then move to a communist country where you can practice your atheism all day long.

      • Frederick

Think about it, friends – Al has an important point, although he could have used more diplomacy. We Americans are unique in our subscription to freedom, as long as it doesn't interfere with the freedom of others. Those maniacal terrorists that day didn't kill people, they killed "infidels", and clearly felt
justified in wiping out those with different beliefs. Al has the right to his beliefs, and the heros of 9/11 died in defense of those cherished freedoms. Suggesting that Al should get out of the country because he has his own beliefs is an attack upon those freedoms. Is that really what you want to do?

  • Bob

Right on Britt!! Amen and Amen

  • Dennis

Mistake in My comment should say Cangress CANNOT establish a National Religion….Sorry about the Error..

  • Lt.William Wolfe

I also am a retired policeman.May blessings be on his family

and let us NEVER forget what happened that day.

  • Lt. TJ Brandon

Retired LE, May God be with all our fallen brothers that parished on 911 doing their jobs without regard for their own safety.

  • DRZ

I am shamed by the fact that neither police or firefighters will be a part of the Tenth Anniversay Ceremony. They paid more that day than anyone. Let all true Americans never forget their bravery.

  • Al

Britt – look what you started. You turned an honorable memorial day into a forum for your bible thumping. If it's your narrow minded brain leading the interpretation of the 2nd Amendment = we're all going to lose!!

    • M1a65

Al, you need to get off your mom's computer or go back to trolling other boards. Loser!

    • Cathy

Al, remember the other right, freedom of speech. Amen Britt

    • SrAOchoa

The only person here that doesn't like comments is you. So step up or step out.

  • john

Can they trace the serial number and find out who owned it, I would have like to know more about the owner.

    • Ben O'Brien

  • Darryl Rogers

Amen Brit! I love how these open minded liberals will close their minds when you disagree with them….

  • AFITgrad86

Here is to those who run towards the disaster, the smoke and the fire. They are truly their brother’s keeper and have a special place in God’s kingdom.
