Tips for Aiming with ScopesWords by G&A Staff
Aiming with scopes might not seem difficult at first. In principle, all shooters have to do is line up the crosshairs with the target and pull the trigger. In practice, however, using a riflescope requires some precise adjustments to ensure that a fired round will land in the spot marked by the crosshairs.
First, new shooters must ensure that their scope is properly mounted and sighted in. Otherwise, there’s no telling where fired rounds will end up or how long a scope will stay accurate. Other things to consider when aiming with scopes includes keeping a certain amount of distance from the ocular lens and adjusting the scope parallax.
