AR-15 Competition For the Love of Competition Rifles

At the Range: Rock River R3 Competition Rifle

by G&A Online Editors   |  June 11th, 2013 3

Configuring an AR-15 for competition can become overwhelming if you do it yourself. Infinite combinations of aftermarket parts can easily scare people away from adding some extra sport to their modern sporting rifle. Specifically designed for 3-gun shooters, the Rock River Arms R3 Competition Rifle comes out of the box race-ready.

The R3 is equipped with an octagonal free-float rail which can be configured with supplemental rail segments to easily attach accessories like offset iron sights. A directionally tuned and ported muzzle brake caps off an 18-inch fluted stainless steel barrel with 1:8 twist.

Combine an exceptional barrel with Rock River’s two-stage match trigger, and this rifle has the makings of an outstanding competition gun. The only thing needed to complete the R3 is your choice of optics. The R3 Competition Rifle is shipping now for $1,310.

Just like to say thanks to Rock River for my order from October of 2012, just like to say your people on the phone are the worst people I have ever talked to. It is now June 16, 2013 and the person I spoke to said forget it, your order is not going to ship, go bug some one else.. Ok I will… NEVER will I buy from Rock River !

Not a shock. But yet RR rushed out the LAR 15 R3 to try and cash in on the 3 gun market…like 3 gun is new. People waiting on orders for 4, 6, 8 or 10 months but yet RR is pumping out guns they think they can make a quick buck on. Fuck them.

Life lessons folks. Go build your own shit, you gain knowledge and self confidence and pride all at the same time. Parts are out there and so are people that will help you. Go build something that is 10 times the gun of any RR and do it in a third of the time.
