Springfield Armory's Duel 3 in Full Swing

Get in on this, guys and gals. Springfield Armory's going wild.

Sept. 19 marks the company's third duel in their Duel 3 promotion. In this firearm face-off, Springfield's new 4-inch XD Mod.2 is going up against the 1911 LW Champion Operator. Which one do you think will win?

The company's deemed Sept. 16's Duel 3 promotion as "Wild Wednesday," and it gave away 25 brand-new Springfield XD-S 4-inch .45 ACP handguns, totaling more than $14,000. On Sept. 23, Springfield will hand out 50 more of its 4-inch XD-S pistols.

This promotion marked the halfway point of Springfield's Duel 3 giveaway, which is the largest gun giveaway ever offered.

"To date, we've given away almost $63,000 worth of product," said Chad Dyer, marketing manager for Springfield Armory. "Basically, we wanted to give our customers a chance to have some fun, and we wanted to reward them. We also wanted to integrate other manufacturers, and they seemed pretty excited about it."

In addition to the XDs, winners will also receive a Pro-Shot universal cleaning kit.

In addition to the giveaway, Springfield is also sponsoring its Gear Up & Go promotion, which runs until the end of December 2015. Any purchase of a Springfield XD, XD Mod.2, XD(M), XDS or 1911 handgun will include a free two extra magazines, a dual-pistol range bag and a double-mag pouch.

To register in Springfield's Duel 3 giveaway, go to DUEL.Springfield-Armory.com. Springfield's weekly "duel" allows participants to vote on a head-to-head comparison between two Springfield pistols. Votes are allowed once per hour, and each vote increases a person's chance to win one of Springfield's prize packages.

The promotion runs until Sept. 25, and next week will include the following prize packages:

9/20 - Range Officer Sunday

A lucky winner will receive a Springfield Armory 1911 Range Officer valued at $900.

9/21 - Monday Gun Day

Springfield is giving away a newly released XD Mod.2 4-inch Service Model 9mm pistol.

9/22 - Long Range Day

A $3,900 prize package is up for grabs, including an M1A Loaded PAS rifle.

9/23 - Wild Wednesday

Springfield will give away an incredible 50 XD-S 4-inch 9mm pistols.

9/24 - Thirty Thursday

Brite-Strike Brite-Blades are the prizes of the day, and 30 of them will be handed out to winners.

9/25 - Zombie Day

One participant will receive a $4,300 prize package that includes a Springfield M1A SOCOM 16 rifle, as well as items from Hornady, TenPoint Crossbow Technologies, Outdoor Sportsman Group and others.

9/30 - Grand Prize

One lucky winner will get an all-expenses-paid trip to the Springfield Custom Shop to design his or her own dream 1911 and shoot with world-champion shooter Rob Leatham. A lifetime membership will also be awarded to the winner by the NRA, along with an ammo package from Atlanta Arms.
