It looks like our ammo shelves are about to get fuller.
Aguila Ammunition is introducing its full shotshell product line into the U.S. market. The line will include skeet, trap and sporting clay loads, as well as Aguila’s exclusive pigeon load.
“Aguila’s shotshell line has something for everyone, whether the application is hunting, competition, clays or home defense,” said Rod Taylor, director of manufacturing for Aguila Ammunition. “Hunters and competitive shooters across Latin America have relied on the affordable performance of Aguila for over five decades. We’re excited to show the U.S. market the Aguila advantage.”
Every load will be offered in 12-, 16-, 20- and .410-gauge, along with 7.5, 8 and 9-shot options in both standard and high velocities.
Aguila will also bring its exclusive “Minishell” along with its standard offerings. The Minishell is designed to produce usable velocities from a small 1 3/4-inch shell, which allows shooters to carry more 12-gauge rounds.
The Minishell offers a low-recoil option to shooters that comes in several versions: 7.5-shot, slug and 00 buckshot. The Minishell propels slugs and 00 buck out of the barrel at a muzzle velocity of 1,250 fps. For comparison, the company’s high-velocity buckshot offering in a 2 3/4-inch 12-gauge shell is recorded with a muzzle velocity of 1,275 fps.
Aguila is also known for its rimfire line of ammunition, consisting wholly of .22-caliber options in both target and match loads. The company also produces centerfire ammunition for both pistols and rifles. Pistol-caliber options range from .25 ACP to .45 ACP, while rifle calibers range from .30 Carbine to .308.
