Debuting at the 2015 SHOT Show, manufacturers introduced an assortment of great new handguns for 2015.
A number of manufacturers looked to the 10mm Auto in 2015, while some others focused their efforts on crafting pistols purpose-built to meet the needs of competitors. Of course plenty of manufacturers continued to concentrate on innovating within their own particular niches.

- <h2>S&W M&P Pro Series C.O.R.E. Ported Pistols</h2>Smith & Wesson's new <a href="http://www.gunsandammo.com/first-look/smith-wesson-m-p-pro-series-core-ported-pistol/">M&P Pro Series C.O.R.E. Ported Pistols</a> feature ported barrels with slide cuts to vent gas upward, keeping competitors on target with reduced muzzle flip. M&P ported pistols are initially available in four configurations: 9mm and .40 S&W, each with 5-inch or 4.25-inch barrels. The 9mm models have a capacity of 17+1 rounds, while the .40 S&W models hold 15+1 rounds. <br></br> All varieties of the ported C.O.R.E. pistols come from the Smith & Wesson Performance Center with adjustable triggers and suppressor-height sights for co-witnessing with optics. <br> <strong>Price:</strong> $812
- <h2>Nighthawk Custom Guns & Ammo 1911</h2>A collaboration between Guns & Ammo's Editor Eric R. Poole and <a href= "http://www.nighthawkcustom.com/" target= "_blank">Nighthawk Custom</a>, the new Guns & Ammo limited edition 1911 pistol is crafted with Nighthawk's renowned attention to detail. The G&A logo has been tastefully etched into the slide of each custom pistol. Only 100 Nighthawk Guns & Ammo 1911s will be produced, with serial number 1 pistol heading to auction at <a href="http://www.gunsamerica.com" target="_blank">GunsAmerica</a> beginning March 20 to benefit the <a href= "https://www.honoredveterans.org/" target= "_blank">Honored American Veterans Afield (HAVA)</a> charity organization. <br> <strong>Price:</strong> $XXXX
- <h2>Glock 40 MOS 10mm</h2>In the past, if you wanted a <a href= "http://us.glock.com/" target= "_blank">Glock</a> equipped with a <a href= "http://www.gunsandammo.com/optics/mini-red-dot-sights-concealed-carry/" target= "_blank">mini red dot sight (MRDS)</a> it involved a certain amount of gunsmithing, which could be expensive or potentially void the pistol’s warranty. This is no longer the case. At the <a href= "http://www.gunsandammo.com/shot-show-2015/" target= "_blank">2015 SHOT Show</a> Glock introduced its new <a href= "http://www.gunsandammo.com/first-look/glock-introduces-modular-optic-system-mos-pistols/" target= "_blank">Modular Optic System (MOS)</a> that makes mounting MRDS optics incredibly easy. While Glock added the MOS to select previous models (G34, G35 and G41), the <a href= "http://us.glock.com/products/model/g40gen4mos" target= "_blank">Glock 40 Gen 4 with MOS</a> is an entirely new offering for 2015. Sporting a 6-inch barrel and a 15-round magazine, the 10mm Auto G40 is Glock’s largest ever handgun, an interesting reversal of the <a href= "http://www.gunsandammo.com/video/range-glock-42/" target= "_blank">sub-compact .380</a> it introduced last year. The new G40 Gen 4 MOS should be a great option for hunting or self-defense when traveling in bear country. <br> <strong>Price:</strong> $699
- <h2>CZ 75 Tac II Shadow 9mm</h2>2015 marks the 40th anniversary of the CZ 75, and CZ is celebrating with a few new models, including this <a href="http://www.gunsandammo.com/first-look/first-look-new-cz-usa-firearms-2015/" target="_blank">Tac II Shadow 9mm</a>. This Custom Shop pistol includes a 3- to 4-pound trigger and Trijicon night sights. <br> <strong>Price:</strong> $1,349
- <h2>Kimber Desert Warrior TFS .45 ACP</h2>Perfect for the tactical-minded 1911 aficionado, <a href= "http://www.kimberamerica.com/" target= "_blank">Kimber</a>’s new <a href= "http://www.kimberamerica.com/new-for-2015/desert-warrior-tfs" target= "_blank">Desert Warrior TFS</a> (Threaded for Suppression) pistol in .45 ACP comes built to handle a variety of situations. As its name indicates, the Desert Warrior is built for suppressed fire and comes with a stainless steel, match-grade threaded barrel as well as suppressor-height tritium night sights. - <h2>S&W PC 460XVR Bone Collector</h2>Built in partnership with professional hunter <a href= "http://outdoorchannel.com/bone-collector" target= "_blank">Michael Waddell</a>, the new <a href= "http://www.shootingtimes.com/first-look/smith-wesson-performance-center-model-460xvr-bone-collector/" target= "_blank">460XVR Bone Collector</a> from Smith & Wesson’s <a href= "http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Category3_750001_750051_757896_-1_Y" target= "_blank">Performance Center</a> is built to take down any big game animal North America has to offer. The 460XVR Bone Collector revolver chambered in .460 S&W Magnum has a 7.5-inch barrel and utilizes a 5-round cylinder. It comes fitted with a custom muzzle brake and Hogue overmolded grips to help with the recoil of the powerful .460 S&W Magnum cartridge and incorporates a Picatinny rail for mounting optics or fiber optic sights for those who prefer irons. The 460XVR Bone Collector’s action is tuned at the Performance Center, resulting in a 3.5-pound trigger pull in single action and a 10-pound trigger pull in double action. The revolver has a chrome hammer and trigger and sports a unique two-tone finish as well as the signature Bone Collector logo. - <h2>Ruger SR1911 Lightweight (LW)</h2>Weighing about 7 ounces less than <a href= "http://ruger.com/index.html" target= "_blank">Ruger</a>’s standard <a href= "http://ruger.com/products/sr1911/index.html" target= "_blank">SR1911</a> commander-style pistol, the <a href= "http://www.gunsandammo.com/first-look/first-look-ruger-sr1911-lightweight-commander/" target= "_blank">SR1911 Lightweight Commander</a> sports a black anodized aluminum frame with a stainless steel slide. A problem encountered with many aluminum-framed 1911s is excessive wear on the feed ramp, but Ruger has countered this with a durable polished titanium feed ramp that protects against wear and ensures reliable feeding. The new SR1911 LW Commander also features <a href= "http://www.novaksights.com/" target= "_blank">Novak</a> LoMount Carry 3-dot sights, a standard beaver-tail grip safety, an oversized magazine release, an extended thumb safety and a skeletonized hammer and trigger. Hardwood grips and checkering on the front strap and mainspring housing round out the pistol. <br> Price: $899
- <h2>SIG Sauer P220 10mm Match Elite</h2><a href= "http://www.sigsauer.com/" target= "_blank">SIG Sauer</a> made a big commitment to the 10mm Auto cartridge in 2015 by introducing an all-new line of <a href= "http://www.gunsandammo.com/first-look/sig-sauer-10mm-p220-pistols-10mm-elite-performance-ammo/" target= "_blank">10mm Elite Performance Ammunition</a> as well as four new P220 pistols chambered in 10mm. The Stainless Elite P220 is one of these, and it comes equipped with a 5-pound single-action trigger and SIGLITE night sights. The pistol wears a natural stainless finish and has elegant Rosewood grips. It has an accessory rail for mounting flashlights, laser sights and other accessories and also sports front cocking serrations to aid in racking the slide. Other models of the P220 in 10mm include the Match Elite Reverse Two-Tone, Stainless Elite Nitron and the Hunt-Ready. All are priced the same except for the Hunt-Ready, which is about $300 more.
- <h2>Colt MK IV/Series 70 Gold Cup National Match 1911</h2>Colt's <a href= "http://www.colt.com/Catalog/Pistols/GoldCup%C2%AESeries.aspx" target= "_blank">Gold Cup</a> line represents some of the company's finest 1911s, and this year, along with its other <a href= "http://www.gunsandammo.com/first-look/new-handguns-colt-2015/" target= "_blank">new pistols</a>, <a href= "http://www.colt.com/" target= "_blank">Colt</a> added another pistol to the venerable line. The new MK IV/Series 70 Gold Cup National Match 1911 is tuned for superior performance and utilizes the Series 70 firing system as well as its classic flat-top slide. Other refinements include a lowered and flared ejection port, an adjustable wide trigger, a National Match barrel and adjustable target sights. The new Gold Cup 1911 also features a simple, but elegant, blued carbon steel slide and receiver. <br> <strong>Price:</strong> $1,250
- <h2>Beretta M9A3</h2>On Dec. 10, 2014, Beretta submitted the <a href="http://www.beretta.com/en-us/m9a3/" target="_blank">M9A3</a> pistol as an Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) to the Department of Defense (DoD), which includes major improvements to increase the operational effectiveness of the M9 sidearm currently in use by the U.S. Armed Forces. Regardless of its acceptance by our military, the Bretta M9A3 will become available to civilians in 2015. <strong>Look for a full review in the April 2015 issue of G&A!</strong>
