Michael Bane, host of Shooting Gallery on Outdoor Channel and Shooting Gallery Online on MyOutdoorTV.com, spoke with Streamlight's Bobby Knight at NRA 2018 about Streamlight's upgraded Protac flashlight, as well as the TLR 7 and TLR 8 gun-mounted lights.
The new Protac flashlight uses rechargeable 18650 USB batteries, but still has the capability of using CR123A lithium batteries if needed. The flashlight comes with a lumen upgrade and a redesigned clip that fits deeper into a pocket. This rechargeable flashlight is a necessity for any preppers.
Streamlight is always on the forefront of mounted gun lights, and the TLR 7 and 8 are no exceptions. With TLR 7 and 8, Streamlight shrunk the lights down to fit the length of most slides. This helps with concealability, and makes it easier to fit a pistol into a holster with the light still attached. These are 500 lumen lights with a single CR123A battery. The lights are thinner and lighter, and the switch is accessible on both sides of the light. The TLR 8 is the same as the 7 except it comes with a laser, making it a little bit thicker.
