The REC7 G2 comes from famed sniper system manufacturer Barrett. The new G2 sheds some weight from its former self and sports a slimmer Enhanced Rail handguard with KeyMod attachment system. The weight has also dropped from 7 pounds, 9.6 ounces to 7 pounds, 3.2 ounces, while still offering two chamberings: 5.56 NATO and 6.8 SPC, both of which are operated by a long-stroke gas piston system. Another notable improvement is found in the trigger, which is now a Geissle SSA, a two-stage trigger providing a crisp 4½-pound pull. Rifles are Cerakoted for corrosion resistance and are available in OD green, gray, FDE and, of course, black.
