SIG Sauer MPX Now Shipping

SIG Sauer has announced that its highly anticipated MPX, first introduced at the 2013 SHOT Show, is now on its way to distributors, with semiautomatic MPXs chambered in 9mm scheduled to be on retailers' shelves within the next few weeks.

Although .40 S&W and .357 SIG variants of the MPX were originally intended to be offered, only 9mm versions will initially be available.

"We made the decision to start shipping the 9mm variants of the SIG MPX rather than continue to delay its launch as we finalize testing on the .40 and .357SIG variants," said John Brasseur, Director of Product Management for SIG SAUER, Inc. "We now have the 9mm variants in full production and will be shipping on a daily basis."

Three semiautomatic versions of the SIG Sauer MPX will be available to the civilian market:

• SIG MPX-P (Pistol)
• SIG MPX-PSB (Pistol with SBX Pistol Stabilizing Brace)

• SIG MPX SBR (Short Barrel Rifle)

A carbine-length model is also currently in development. Select-fire sub-machine gun variants will be available to military and law enforcement agencies.

The SIG MPX-P pistol variant will be available for $1,576. The SIG MPX-PSB, which includes a side-folding SBX pistol stabilizing brace, will start at $1,862, while the SIG MPX SBR will be available for $2,062.
