Leupold has redesigned its renowned Gold Ring Spotting Scope line.
The newly designed Leupold Gold Ring Spotting Scopes incorporate a more durable construction as well as other features. One of these features is a reticle matched to the company's riflescopes.
Called the Impact Reticle, the MOA-based, front focal plane reticle gives spotters the ability to call impacts and offer immediate adjustments for the shooter. Available on the 12-40x60mm HD and the 20-80x60mm spotting scopes in the Gold Ring line, the Impact Reticle includes a minute-of-angle based grid in the lower half of the viewing field for fast and accurate measurements regardless of magnification setting. The reticle also features additional milradian dots for use with mil-based reticles.
The addition of an MOA reticle in the spotting scope that has matching adjustments to the riflescope will aid shooters with sighting in, reducing the process to a simple two shots. After the first shot, the spotter can measure and then dial in the adjustment. The second shot will then confirm the placement.

"Spotting scopes are one of the most important tools in the hunter's pack," said Pat Mundy, director of brand communications for Leupold & Stevens, Inc. "A good spotter helps the hunter scout longer and the wider field-of-view can help locate and identify animals otherwise missed."
Other features include a new armor coating for added protection afield and a prism-less Folded Light Path system. This system greatly reduces the overall length, which makes the spotting scopes more compact for use in places such as the back country.
Each of the Gold Ring spotting scopes is designed, machined and assembled in Leupold's manufacturing facility in Oregon and is backed by the Leupold Gold Ring Full Lifetime Guarantee.
