First Look: SureFire 2211 Luminox WristLight

by G&A Online Editors   |  August 1st, 2014 5

2211_Luminox_2SureFire, a major manufacturer of flashlights, weapon-mounted lights and other tactical equipment, has added the 2211 Luminox WristLight to its group of hands-free illumination devices.

The new SureFire 2211 Luminox WristLight features a high-performance LED focused by a refractive optic that produces a maximum light output of 300 lumens. It also incorporates a timepiece from Swiss watchmaker Luminox.

The 2211 Luminox is designed to automatically align downrange from a pistol held in a standard two-handed grip. The LED’s output can be set to 300 lumens by pressing either of its ambidextrous switches to help the user quickly identify threats and impair an aggressor’s night-adapted vision. Two lower-output settings of 60 and 15 lumens are also available for situations where less light and more runtime are needed and can be accessed by pressing both switches simultaneously.

The watch on the new WristLight utilizes Swiss quartz movement, a unidirectional rotating bezel with timer markings and self-illuminating tritium gas hands and markers. The device also features an aluminum body with scratch-resistant mineral crystal to protect its face and gasket sealing for waterproofing. The watch is the size of a large sports watch and straps securely to the wrist via a rubber wristband with a stainless steel buckle.

A rechargeable lithium-ion battery powers the 2211 Luminox’s LED, while a separate non-rechargeable lithium disk battery powers the Luminox watch for continuous timekeeping even when the rechargeable battery is fully depleted. A built-in LED fuel gauge also notifies the user when it’s time to recharge the battery, which can be accomplished with an included USB charging cable.

The SureFire 2211 Luminox is available now for $795.
